AjcW Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 Abysmal statement from the club, no one in mind that’s for sure. Appleton in charge for Saturday
Chrysalis Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 to those who think he should have stayed please respond to this Quote all 4 games we played badly, brighton we got lucky as they were scared to attack us, bournemouth we got lucky they couldnt shoot in that game. We have regressed severely in our performances, there was no progress, so what would have waiting achieved considering we are regressing? You cant just give time just because it seems the right thing to do, there has to be logic behind it.

The owners liked the plaudits, and I am still with them, but if they Pss about again and show No leadership....there must also be questions!!! If replacement again as not been already set up or sniffed out, Then stupid descision for forthcoming games. Nothing wrong in sacking a man even if he came up with 3-4 unbeaten run. It seems now they doubted their own descision, which seems, quite poor because of the time to select him in the 1st place..... A big massive broom, is now needed.... Never boring is it...!!! Sky report NP...is not in line. I think it was more than just recent form, there are a lot of new signings that appear unhappy. Im sure it great if you are one of the old guard, not such a great place if you're Musa, Slimani, iheanacho, Gray, Jakupovic , even Iborra looks baffled when his on the ball.
lifted*fox Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 We really do need to start getting some anti-Rudkin chants on the go b2b a big TIFO with an image of Rudkin being shot out of a cannon into the sun on it.

I’m clueless as to who’s coming in next. True. I'm satisfied that he has been sacked but then I remember we were in talks with Roy Hodgson in the summer. If we are linked with that calibre of shite again then we might as well keep Shakespeare.
hejammy Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 “Craig is and will remain a very popular, respected figure at Leicester City and will be welcome back at King Power Stadium in future, both professionally and as a friend of the Club" Keeping it open for a chance of him staying on as coach perhaps??

adam Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 So if Appleton wins a few on the bounce does he get the job? Nightmare
Robin JD Popley Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 It's sad that the journey ends this way but it is completely the right decision. He has been here throughout some of the best moments our club has ever had but we couldn't carry on this way as I said on the Radio a week or two. We need to now change philosophy as a club and build on what Claudio did so well in his first season. These players need a new dynamic, a new playing style and even go as far as to say root out the 'deadwood' (hate that word but there's no point in beating about the bush here). Do what we can this year, ensure our safety first and foremost and then really push on next season, because we can't go from being the best club in the country to this in just 24 months. It defies all logic. My choice would be one of Benitez, Schmidt or Howe if they fancied it. Like Ancelotti and Mancini too but one now has a job and the other may want a break after what happened in their last job so recently.
urban.spaceman Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 Leicester City Parts Company With Craig Shakespeare Leicester City Football Club has today (Tuesday) parted company with its First Team Manager, Craig Shakespeare. Michael Appleton will be in charge of the First Team as Caretaker Manager for Saturday’s Premier League trip to Swansea City, supported by First Team Coaches Mike Stowell and Adam Sandler. Leicester City Vice Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha said: “Craig has been a great servant to Leicester City – during his spells as an Assistant Manager and since taking over as Manager in challenging circumstances in February. His dedication to the Club and to his work has been absolute and the contribution he made to the most successful period in Leicester City history is considerable. “However, our early promise under Craig’s management has not been consistently evident in the months since and the Board feels that, regrettably, a change is necessary to keep the Club moving forward – consistent with the long-term expectations of our supporters, Board and owners. “Craig is and will remain a very popular, respected figure at Leicester City and will be welcome back at King Power Stadium in future, both professionally and as a friend of the Club.” The Club will now begin the process of identifying and appointing its next First Team Manager and will make no further comment on the process until the appropriate time.
Dr The Singh Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 I heard the owners walked in on a bust up between Shakey and Gray......the owners felt he lost the dressing room

If Happy Gilmore can't get these boys motivated then we might as well just shut up shop completely.

Chico1958 Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 I'm not suprised really, I didn't want him in the first place. Good coach I'm sure but what goes around comes around. No bad feelings apart from the one I felt last Feb 27th 2017 Sorry, but I was gutted at this performance at the time

Vardy, Fuchs and Scmeichel to name but three. All of the players need a manager who is notm going to take any shite and tell them they don't run the team. If they don't like it the transfer window reopens in January and they can feck off.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 In, out, Shakey all about Don't know what to make of this, thought he'd be given a bit more time but I think it was the right call, we have gotten worse and worse since the honeymoon period finished. There's problems with recruitment, and injuries but Shakey hasn't exactly helped the cause with some negative game management and a few bizarre substitutions which have highlighted his lack of experience. Hope he does well for himself elsewhere, and that we have a positive and experienced manager lined up to replace him
smr Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 I think he was out of his depth. I had a right moan last night at the footy when they scored and said he'd be sacked before Christmas. Didn't think it would be today though. I like him, and he's obviously a decent coach, would be good to keep him on the coaching side but at this level he didn't have the right muster for the job unfortunately.
Farrington fox Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 So, what is the criteria for bringing players in, who decides? Surely its the manager together with his scouting team that identify targets.. I cannot believe its the likes of Rudkin who pull the shots! If so, then linekers comments may have some credence.
HankMarvin Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 Walks away with 3m plus any bonus for keeping us up, not exactly the worst termination of employment http://tsmsportz.com/football/premier-league-managers-salaries/
somebum Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 "begin the process of identifying " ...not even started yet then typical shite show
suffolk fox Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 1 hour ago, Wymeswold fox said: BBC Radio Leicester's Ian Stringer Craig Shakespeare knew the ruthless nature of Premier League management when he took the job, but eight games will have been a surprise to him, I'm sure. I chatted to him pre-season, when he said he was well aware of the difficulties of having Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool in the first six league games. And having Danny Drinkwater sold on deadline day only to discover the paperwork for his replacement - Adrien Silva - was 14 seconds late left meant depleted numbers. Shakespeare's association with the club goes back to Nigel Pearson's appointment in 2008, with a break when the pair managed Hull City, so it's a long-standing romance with European victories along the way. It ended against West Brom, a club he played for. Fans' reactions seem mixed. Many remember the night against Sevilla when Shakespeare took charge and secured Leicester City a Champions League quarter-final place, while some claim that achievement and resulting appointment was a step too far for an inexperienced manager. I'll miss him. Above all, he's a nice man. They're rare in football. Nice man he may well be and I wish him well. But, premier league manager he certainly is not.
