Daggers Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 To those of us who’ve had to suffer the 21C’s adoration of performance league tables and inspection regimes - the continual sacking of managers is understandable, as is the ability of Rudkin to escape from repercussions. Our owners (I hate saying it that way) quickly realised how clueless they were about football. They trusted to the opinions of a select few. These people don’t get three points a week, they survive on bullshit and meetings. Again, those of us who have ever worked with an inept bullshitting cockwomble have been able to rapidly identify the true issues at the club. Im not happy about spotting Creg’s flaws and being correct that he shouldn’t have been given the job. Nor am I happy that I can see how those not on the front line have driven our decline after winning the fvcking Prem. Again - if our owners can’t act decisively, and rapidly, to cut out the cancer, then they have no business here any longer. This was never ever about just getting shot of a manager; this is about the recruitment, the training, the physiotherapy, the marketing, and the reliance on hitting a long ball to Vardy. The next couple of weeks will define our future for decades. I hope to fvck they’ve wised up.

Exactly. The bloke is stealing a living (and knows it) and will throw anyone or anything under the bus and run the club into the ground before he gets sussed out.

It sad but he just wasnt the right person for the club to take us forward nice man prob a very good assistant manager or assistant coach wish him all the best hopfully he can join NP (if hes not coming here) now we hunt for our manager

So aside from Musa who is the only player I don't rate at all, the signings haven't been that terrible. This summer was better if we except the Silva fiasco. The problem is that these signings will never ever be able to prove anything if we keep on clinging to an obsolete system.

To be fair, Ian Nacho looked like a steal at the time - we weren't to know that he'd get an pre-season injury, then be lazy af on his proper debut To be fair, Mendy looked like a purchase at the time, we weren't to know he'd be injured for 6 years then as soon as he recovered he pleaded to be sent anywhere just anywhere To be fair, Musa scored a hatful a couple of years ago in a league far below the standard of our own. To be fair, Amartey

Tuna Posted 17 October 2017 Posted 17 October 2017 He had to go, carrying on would have simply delayed the inevitable. We've acted with ruthlessness and in the best interests of the football club although I am somewhat surprised as I felt the draw against West Brom gave him a bit more time. I do however feel that the problems are rooted much deeper than just the manager, I've questions about our entire structure and transfer policy and cannot see much changing in the short term unless changes elsewhere are made. I've not got a huge amount of faith in our ability to make the right decisions regards a replacement. We need the right appointment, not the biggest name. It's too early to say we're facing a relegation battle again, so we've done the right thing by acting now rather than later but it already feels like such a wasted opportunity. The club made a mistake in appointing Shakey in the first place as we urgently needed an overhaul from top to bottom in the summer.

End of the day, Rudkin's position doesn't seem to be under great which is the scariest part of our football club. I wonder how bad things have to get before our owners see the obvious? It makes me question everything they've ever done. And me also. I've always had this sneaky suspicion that they've had a lot of good fortune and the longer it goes on the more I think that truly is the case. They've played it well but there's quite obviously a total lack of know-how about this club. I'm starting to think he's got some kind of dirt on the owners. We are absolutely rotten. It's so blatantly obvious now. There are hints left, right and centre. Lineker clearly knows a thing or two, Peter Schmeichel's dropped a load of hints last night, there are plenty of others too but those two spring to mind. Just tell me how Shakespeare can have in his mind a high pressing, high energy 4-4-2 and think that players like Iborra and Iheanacho are what he needs? Iborra, a holding midfielder in a side that plays possession football, Iheanacho, a goal poacher coming from the most creative side in the country. There's no way on earth the management and the recruitment are in sync with each other. So we learnt that Drinkwater was sold against his wishes, I mean it was obvious anyway but at least it's now in the open. He's been stitched up here yet he takes all of the blame and nobody else is culpable? I think getting rid of him as manager is the correct decision. I'm sad to say that and hold my hands up that I was wrong about him. He made the right noises in the summer but seemed to get more and more conservative the longer it went on. Was that nonsense with Chilwell yesterday a rush of blood to the head or an instruction? But my god he's been stitched up. He isn't the main problem. He was an asset to the club, in the wrong role and now he's gone while the useless twats above him are seemingly untouched despite far more damning evidence of failure. I think King Power get away with this a lot I do. People call the club everything under the sun, a shambles, a joke, whatever - yet hold those at the top completely unaccountable? How the ****ing hell does that work? I don't think people at the club realise how big a joke things like this Silva fiasco make us look. Is Sean Dyche seriously going to want to leave his comfortable job at Burnley, top half of the table, for a shambles like that? I think he'd be mental to come here. This is Sean Dyche for **** sake, within 18 months of us winning the league and Sean ****ing Dyche has legitimate reasons to tell us to **** off. Adrien Silva's sacked off his boyhood club and a chunk of Portugal games leading up to a world cup, for this? My god I feel for that bloke. I don't give a shit how much he's on. He must feel absolutely conned. I'm ****ing furious with LCFC at the minute. Utter joke.

If it's true, they need to get rid of him, as he's an amateur, doing his job badly. The problems run deeper than an inexperienced manager, start the cull, clear house, bring in people who can do a good job at this level, at all levels of the club, or this will keep happening. which also begs the question if he didnt want nacho why was he been given so much game time. He was a sub in almost every league game when fit, it felt like he was forced into giving him time. Then for no obvious reason started the last game. Was shakespeare been leaned onto to play him from above?

Ive not been down much this season and just not missed it. As a club, we've become a shining example of how NOT to be run and if another club had spent what we'd spent on players who just sit on the bench match after match, I think we'd probably all be laughing at them. Whatever manager we get in, doesn't get over this issue of too much complacency within the club and it seems (to an outsider like myself) to be a nest of vipers at the moment. The Thais need to freshen the whole place up, cos frankly, it stinks. we done bad recruitment, but players shouldnt be played just because they cost a lot of money.

He must feel absolutely conned. I'm ****ing furious with LCFC at the minute. Utter joke. The owners were crucial to us winning the league for their investment back in the FLC but there were other crucial and far more exceptional contributions along the way. It wasn't the £7,500,000 they spent on Vardy, Kante,Mahrez and Drinkwater which sealed it for us. It was having staff in place who could identify talent worth twenty times that amount, and at that price. And it was having players who performed to the absolute peak of their ability, way beyond what you'd expect for the fees we paid. The board don't come out of this well. Their hogging of the limelight during the title celebrations feels cringeworthy now. They've fired two of the greatest managers in the club's history and one of its greatest coaches in the space of a few years. They've fumbled key transfers by cashing in before they splash out. They've allowed a DoF to clash with bosses, dominate and bungle transfer policy, and yet given the manager the bullet when he failed to fix the leaks. I'd grown to believe that CS wasn't long-term management material, though I felt we needed to get the timing of his exit right to keep players on board, and give both the boss and the players time to look for new solutions. I thought we might have been able to deal with the DoF situation first. Maybe brought in support for the manager. But no, we're a shambles. The genius behind our rise looks increasingly like it was Pearson or Ranieri or Mahrez or Vardy or Kante or Schmeichel, rather than the clowns in charge right now. Their restructuring will have to go way beyond switching bosses if they want to fix the 'malaise'. Whether it's through luck or footballing nous, many of KP's gambles have worked out in the past and for that reason (rather than because we owe them everything) they deserve some patience. With the owners, not with some of their cohorts. But they're going to have to get this one right. The club has been horribly mismanaged since May 2016. They have to take responsibility for that. Or you could just blame those nasty, lazy, good-for-nothing back-stabbing bastard players (who once won us the league).
Carl the Llama Posted 18 October 2017 Posted 18 October 2017 Very upsetting that he wasn't able to find his feet with us and as much as I was all for giving him more time it's hard to disagree that we've been on a downward spiral and Shakey hasn't shown the tactical astuteness required to do more than eke out narrow defeats and scraped draws (much like a certain someone for a large part of a certain season leading to a certain escape). It's a fact that he was massively let down by the farce of deadline day but it's also true that it has no bearing on the concerns over his decisions with the players he did have at his disposal. Now we're due another agonising period of drawn-out uncertainty and nebulous links to every out of work manager and his mum unless of course the owners have a name lined up already (which on the basis of previous sackings I find unlikely). But the biggest concern this whole affair raises in my opinion - and it's a serious question that I sincerely hope the owners are asking if we ever want to escape the rut we find ourselves in - is for how long are we going to continue to consider my avatar relevant and inspirational?
EnglishOxide Posted 18 October 2017 Posted 18 October 2017 People need to stop slagging off recruitment until another manager has had a go with the players. All our players arrived with fantastic reputations. It's down to the manager to get them working full stop. The Silva/Drinkwater/Mendy situation obviously isn't good but you can't justify starting Andy King in a midfield 2. Adjust to the situation. I really don't think the recruitment has been bad. For all we know, Shakespeare/the staff secured their targets but misjudged how they would fit into this shit arse system he is trying to play. So Rudkin would have done his job just fine, it was the coaches/managers/players underperforming. We will find out if we get a good, proven manager in. Laying all our problems at the feet of Rudkin or the owners is disgusting. Shakespeare was given a huge chance, with huge backing and blew it.
