The Claude Puel Era - what will he bring?

hes just like all the other managers, keeps the same players and refuses to change things up. i will give him to the end of the season before hes axed.

What is he supposed to do? He cannot change players because it's not the transfer window.

But with what he has got, he's tried to do things different and changed us from our awful style before.

I am confident in Puel and I can't wait till he has a transfer window to get rid of certain players and start making personnel improvements.

Refuses to change things are you sure . He’s al ready tried to change  things in just the three matches in charge than  Shakespeare did in all of his games .

That's £714.7m on their first team squad alone, £215m of that spent in the summer and that's before you even get to their development squads.

I'm pretty sure that's more than double what we have spent on players in the last 133 years.

We've turned them over twice in the last 18 months because they were arrogant enough think we shouldn't be beating them. Pepe has sorted them out since last December's riot and has finally got his £400m playing the sort of football that the pundits orgasm over.

Did people really expect us to thrash them again? They are the embodiment of financial unfair play and are definitely, definitely NOT being investigated by UEFA about it yet.

Claude's barely had a month with his squad and can't make any real major changes until the next transfer window or two. So he has to make do with what he's got.

As it happens I felt we weren't bad yesterday; defensibly strong for 45 minutes until their hammer blow opener (worst time to concede a goal), were positive going forward and hit the post 60 seconds before De Bruyne's worldie. Not to mention Kompany bafflingly being allowed to remain on the pitch - we were quite unlucky to get at the very least a point out of the game.

Personally I'm optomistic about Puel's overall effect on us so far.

Great post mate but you know what most of our fan base will say to those facts...  "yeah but we won the league"

Or "we should have pressed them higher" or "they aren't that good" or "Shinji should have started".

Wouldn't lay much blame at Claude's door for last Saturday at all.

But bar one all these beatings have been when they played at home. We still have to go there....

what were people expecting there! they are a better team with a better coach. they destroyed teams for fun. we saved face by only losing 2-0.

i don't think puel is boring, he can only work with what he has. i will reserve my opinion until march or this time next year after he gets a transfer window to get the players he wants/needs.

Whilst Puel can pass his wish list to those responsible for recruitment, those charged with signing players may not be able to deliver.  Until changes are made in this department, we may have to wait longer than 1/2 windows.  Plus there needs to be a cull of the deadwood and that ‘ain’t going to be easy shipping out highly paid inviduals who are arguably paid higher than their ability deserves.
