Goodness, I hope this is not true. Would go to show our owners and their acolytes are totally clueless.

I bet they don't even know what the Ashes is.

The Tebbit test looms large...

I call bullshit. There isn't even a quote in there, it's just a source who claims Ranieri has said no thankyou  lol

This surely didn’t happen, must have been misquoted because from every angle this would be a completely bizarre/disastrous thing to happen.

Yeah but this is Leicester.

Totally believable.

Belgium has a tax treaty with uk and yet it has no capital gains tax.  So...if you have large capiral gains  then crystallising then while tax-resident in Belgium is sensible.

Apart from that i dont know what that attraction of belgium is

The chocolate, the beers, the pubs in Grand Place, the 'frites', . . .

No chance. This is the Italian media sticking up for one of their own favourite sons.

It would have been a disaster had he returned. It was the right decision but it was sad how it ended.

Bad enough having a by and large clueless home media and public to deal with. We don't need inaccuracies from abroad.

He's doing very well with Nantes. Let him enjoy his time there.

Why would he want to even come back here after how they treated him and he knows he's unlikely to match the success he had here again. it would have only ever gone one way if he came back here and it's just better for both parties to just live with the memories! if he came back here he would have the same problems which led to his sacking in the first place!

Bullshit. It's just another stick for the media to beat us with and a happy ending for their LCFC soap saga as Claudio gets the last laugh.

I'd be astonished if we actually approached him.

Unsurprisingly, I'd have had him back!

In working with Pearson again, maybe the owners have had a change of heart after the King of Thailand died. Getting rid of Ranieri last year proved to be the correct call, but appointing him in the first place was also the right call! Ranieri has been doing great with Nantes and though he might have dropped the ball hard last year, surely there can't be a Leicester fan here who wasn't completely in love with the guy during the title winning season. Dilly-Dilly Dong wake up man!

I'll always wonder what happened to make our performances go from so good to so bad last year. Ranieri was held ultimately accountable but I suspect the euphoric high of the story meant first world problems for just about everyone at the club.

I hope he did get offered the job

If he did and that seems improbable, I'm glad he turned it down.

We have moved on and so has he, he'll always have a place in my heart though.

And if it had been a choice between him and Pearson.......... Sorry but he would win everytime for me.

So, thanks Claudio. Keep working with Nantes and we'll see how our French Guy gets on

Does make we wonder about the judgement of those employed to run the club.

The mentality of them is astounding, like the bloke who was booted out, after giving the only top tier title in our history, and within 12 months offer him his job back, how insulting to Claudio, and this wouldn’t surprise me at all.

It also proves they have no idea of a direction to take the club, hire Pearson, sack Pearson, hire Sven, sack Sven, **** nobody wants the job, hire Pearson, sack Pearson, hire Claudio, sack Claudio, **** nobody wants the job, hire Shakespeare, **** what have we done, sack Shakespeare, **** it let’s try and get the bloke we just sacked back.

This is by no means criticising the owners, but the clowns in charge of recruiting

You believe everything you read in the papers then!?

Not at all, but I know we have a habit of sacking and rehiring in recent years, so this wouldn’t surprise me.

There are three 'sports' (ie football) newspapers in Italy. They are all desperate for copy. Anything (and I mean anything) you read in any of them should be taken with an industrial measure of salt. La Gazzetta is from Milan so concentrates on two teams, Tuttosport is from Turin (ergo a Juventus match programme more or less) and Corriere dello Sport is from Rome. Ranieri is from Rome. And if we did ring him up (yeah, right) he is too much of a gentleman to have disclosed it.

Imho, complete balle.

Cheers mate! I've just seen the 'news' on some random sports site (along with the obligatory flood of hateful comments directed at the club of course) at first thought this is some regular bollox from Daily Mail or other English tabloid but then saw the source and thought, hmm, Corriere dello Sport... Italian = might be genuine! :o I'm glad there's FT to keep me sane :P

I doubt there would be that many on here who would want CR back.. and to think the owners would call him and propose the job after last season's axing...
