Can't recall James giving the ball away in the first half today, won some headers and tackles too. Problem is I don't understand why Puel is persisting with him in playing a full 90 minutes, Matty James is a 60 minute player or a player you bring on towards the end of a game to see out a win.

 

There's no doubt Silva isn't fully ready yet but he needs game time, it's reached the point where he should be starting. Iborra hasn't warranted his place though, big him up all you like, he's been bang average recently.

Surely if you are playing Mahrez AND Gray, you need 2 sitting midfielders.  We would have been sitting ducks in Silva would have played instead (in my opinion).

Asked after the game whether Silva could play number 10 behind Vardy, Puel says, Silva is not a number 10!

Well let me tell you something Claude, Gray will never be good enough to play number 10 as long as he has a hole in his backside, but it`s not stopping you playing him there!

Also James should not be getting in the team ahead of Iborra or Silva either.

James is a 100 per cent player that will give his all, but he is not going to create anything, and he is not going to score goals either.

He really doesn`t offer us much at all at this level.

Also why was Morgan brought straight back in ahead of Dragovic?

What message does that send?

Dragovic has done nothing wrong, and deserved to keep his place, but obviously Puel feels that there are certain players that will play regardless of how well their replacement has played.

2 league wins in the last 11, i`m not impressed.

Agree, James is a decent squad player, who should be brought on to play to see games out, as he like to play safe and tap it around, which is great when you have a lead with ten minutes to go, but not when we need to score.

I used to like his style of play, but his negative tactics of late, and team selection are putting me off him big style.

 

Football wise we are better under puel but **** me he sets up like we are playing Man City every week, take some risks Claude, because 2 wins in 11 the natives are getting restless and bored.

I think the frustrating thing is that he has brought a new dimension to the team, and we know that if he plays the right players we are easily capable of winning most matches.

Did you miss his World Class cross field ball in the first half, I don't see Silva and Iborra pinging balls like that.

 

Maybe him playing backwards at times is down to the lack of movement in front, Ndidi was the same today, nothing on in front so the only option was to pass wide.

Players don't make runs because there not expecting to ball to come, see Drinkwater in the PL winning season. Vardy new DD would play the ball so would be on his bike! 

 

He can't break the line or play a creative ball so goes square and backwards....

Silva another one from the crap Portuguese League.Not strong or fit enough  for prem.James is a stop gap till the summer.

He's had 3 Months to get himself fit and ready for the league. More importantly he's had the time to study the Team and the League to work out what's required. Like Iborra he also lacks pace which is not good for this league. What I do like about him is the way he gets side on to the Ball to receive a pass. 

This buys him time to play a first time pass. But he just doesn't look strong enough for the league and unless he's going to work on that side of his game he maybe gone in the Summer.

Silva is livid, he's not had an explanation since being subbed off at HT against Man City and Puel has ducked the question.

 

The powers that be higher up at the club are baffled by his lack of involvement as well as a few other selections at the moment. It might look good for Puel in the table but keep going the way it is and I think theyll get rid of him in the summer.
