sdb Posted 4 November 2017 Share Posted 4 November 2017 Shinji usually plays well after a game or two out. Fingers crossed anyway!! Stokes line up is decent. Hughes is limited though. And a ****. Come on Leicester!!!

Is it the same system though? We used to play a 4-4- 1-1, with Okazaki slightly ahead of the rest of the midfield. I thought last week (and I presume this week to), it's more of a 4-2-3-1. I suppose it's similar, but not exactly the same though. With Chilwell injured, he's just shifted Mahrez wide and put Okazaki where Mahrez was. Plus with Gray instead of Albrighton (and not starting King), we can keep the ball better.

Gray and Mahrez is the most obvious. something Shakey never dared to do. Now what remains to be seen is how the team will press on the pitch. AjcW Posted 4 November 2017 Share Posted 4 November 2017 I’d be more inclined to say it’s 4-2-3-1... definitely is when in attack, may well be a more natural 4-4-1-1 in defensive situations

Gray instead of Albrighton, different formation, different tactics and instructions (not just hoofing it up the pitch). There's more to football than just the players and the formation. Otherwise I may as well have the job, since I can put out the same team and tell them to play 4-4-2, and I'd do it for a lot cheaper.
brucey Posted 4 November 2017 Share Posted 4 November 2017 Pretty sure it will be a classic 442... we haven't done too badly against Stoke with that in the past, and I'm sure Puel wants the opportunity to assess our preferred formation in person to get better information before deciding on his tweaks. murphy Posted 4 November 2017 Share Posted 4 November 2017 What worries me a little from that line up is that a new manager has come in with fresh eyes and decided that Shinji starts ahead of Kelechi. That's not a dig at Shinji by the way, but I just expected Ihenacheo to be a class above.

Slim Dog Posted 4 November 2017 Share Posted 4 November 2017 It will be a 4-2-3-1 not a 4-4-2. Yes there's a difference.
