Says it all that once he went off today, we lost control of the middle of the park. After a slow start, he and Ndidi look like they've formed a real partnership and he's playing well. Still makes some poor passes at times, but he has that Cambiasso-like quality of influencing the game and those around him. Delighted he got his goal and really he should had two! Free header at goal for a big man should at least make the keeper work! Overall though he's now proved to be an integral part of the spine of the team in a short space of time, so well played to him.

Hope he's not injured for too long, but after complaining about our midfield for a long time, we have the prospect in January of having to pick the two best from Iborra, Ndidi and Silva. Who knows maybe even Matty James will still do alright for us too.

As soon as he went off, at which point we were winning, I said I’d take a point. Shows you all you need to know when you’re happy with a draw from a winning position

Absolutely key for us I think. I don’t think it’s any coincidence that our return to some sort of form has coincided with Iborra cementing a place in the side.

Watching him in the middle it is great to see him dictate the play. Exactly what we need, so I’ll be gutted if he’s injured for any length of time.

Love him already. Has that ability to find space and dictate things. He defends well and offers something in attack too. Quality.

I know this is harsh but the difference in quality couldn't have been much clearer when King came on.

Didn't see the game but BBC report shows City had most of the possession - 53% against 47%. Can't remember when City last had most of the possession against a decent top-flight side. Would I be right in thinking this is down to the development of a partnership in central midfield between Iborra and Ndidi? Bye bye hoofball?

Iborra has become a key player for us, he got some slating on here early on, but he’s up to speed now, and I just hope he recovers over the international break.

When silva is available, puel will probably change it to play silva, Iborra and nididi, as silva probably offers more going forward, but looking forward to silva and Iborra together.

It’s highlighted again today, we will probably need a centre mid in jan, as the back up, as king isn’t anywhere near a premier league player, and a crock in James isn’t good enough at this level.

I do wonder if having Iborra on the pitch might have helped defend the Crouch goal. He's often in that near post defensive position to head balls away from corners. Might have stopped it getting to Crouch if he had been there.

Different gravy... Actively calls for the ball when there's 2 or 3 opposition players close by and can turn and find a pass to keep possession rather than hoofing it forward. Always seems to have loads of time on the ball despite not being the quickest.

He's just vastly better than King who is 5th or 6th choice

He's different gravy from King!..

If he's out against Manchester City I fear for our goal difference!

He has composure which is something lacking in pretty much every other one of our players (as excellent as they are in other qualities). So yes, vital!

Such a classy player- always drops deep to pick the ball up so we don't have to lump it forward.

We're thin on the ground without him, so (for once) I'm glad it's an international break. We're going to have some great options in January- strength in depth in the middle of the park since god knows when.

I could hear the @Suzie the Fox uncontrollable screams on the match thread when he scored.

Not sure if it was an orgasm or if she’d dropped her Gin bottle :D

He is simply class, he has shown an ability to read the game and think ahead that no other midfielder has shown.

Some of his misplaced passes are merely a consequence of thinking ahead,as others become accustomed to his play they will anticipate the pass.

I hope the injury is not serious. He has improved game on game and he is now central to the way we play.

Once Silva's in we've got the most handsome midfield in the league. Doesn't get better than that.
