Easy publicity. Their jesus roll is now on every news site and in the end, the amount of people that are actually offended over this will be tiny. A majority will be doing exactly what we're doing here, laughing about it.
ealingfox Posted 16 November 2017 Posted 16 November 2017 When I first started reading the thread I thought that they were planning to close the Greggs at Toddington services and @Red Squirrel was arranging some form of protest.
fazzyfox Posted 16 November 2017 Posted 16 November 2017 To be fair there is a connection, Jesus fed thousands of needy people with just a fish and a loaf of bread whilst Greggs satisfy millions of chavs with just a huge tub of lard, a small amount of meat and flour and a few dodgy e-numbers.

Wymsey Posted 16 November 2017 Posted 16 November 2017 Is Gregg's as good as/better than McDonald's etc?

Ha ha. That would would be a disaster! What is good about Greggs, apart from being good value, is the fact it is British and successful - I've even noticed they have introduced healthy options. Tbh I am fed up with the ubiquitous Starbucks, and Ronald McDonald we are getting too much like the US as it is.

I was posting as you were submitting... along the same lines; however you have raised a deeply philosophical question which probably deserves its own thread. I like Nuggets there again I like a Sausage roll - which is better; there is only one way to find out....... FIGHT!
Trav Le Bleu Posted 16 November 2017 Posted 16 November 2017 Too many corporate, faceless, same-old-same-old, mass produced chain store cafes. Food is becoming like music - the stuff everyone likes is bland and boring.

Greggs is an institution and the sausage roll is a large part of that. It's cheap, decent quality and whenever I go in the staff seem pretty friendly. Not all corporate chain stores are bad by default.
Izzy Posted 16 November 2017 Posted 16 November 2017 I found my first gray pubic hair yesterday. This wouldn't usually bother me, but it was inside a Greggs sausage roll
