After last night I'm not even sure what full strength is anymore lol

Just picked upon this Topic...

Seriously...what would be considered our " full strength  side"...

There are some players that are desperate for some game time and that have done well in this competition such as Slimani, Iheanacho, Dragovic and Amartey. I think we can afford to make a couple of changes just as long as we don't lose the intensity we have now built up. That means Ulloa cannot be considered to start as he just doesn't suit this style of play or can he compete against the elite.

I think Man City are beatable if they treat this like they did that final CL game they lost, however they are now so far ahead in the league they could rest players this weekend in preparation for our game which is a scary thought.

I'm sure City will rest a lot of players because they're playing Spurs on Saturday.

NVM, they're playing Bournemouth after EFL. Got the schedule mixed up. Thought Spurs were after us. My bad.:nacho:

Of course. Don't see the point in it if we don't.

Our first team v their reserves and we have a chance.

In a sick and perverse way, I'm also interested to see how dangerous Musa could be in this system of Big Claude's.

We have many good players sitting on the sidelines who badly need game time ...Ineahacho,Slimani, Amartey, Drogovic..give them a chance to prove themselves..they didnt let us down in the earlier rounds...think long term..anyway Man City wont put out a particuarly strong team , the last thing they want is Silva,Ageuro and Jesus picking up any long term injuries ,dont think they would play them even if they were in the final

League Cup is far, far, far, far more realistic.

not so, odds to finish top 4 are not even twice our odds to win league cup

Cups guarantee Europe. 6th and 7th place don't.

We should consider this to be the Cup Final as Man City is by far the best team in the league. To win the cup you need to slay Man City. Either we do it now or someone else has to try to in a later round.

Obviously put the strongest side out that we have at the time. Can also see Man City taking this game seriously.

The way I see it, 3 wins and a draw gives us european football (and a trophy)

I really cant see anyone arguing about resting players come april if we need 3 wins and draw from  the final 4 games of the season to seal 5th place.

Go for it now and again in the fa cup and see where we are in may.

I'd take 8th and the league cup now.  I'd love a few more tuesday/wednesday or even thursday nights, under the lights, next season.

Can't see them resting players v spurs tbh

This is the season to go for cups - since we've been promoted it was focusing on staying up season 1, winning the league season 2, staying up again season 3 - we are now comfortable and confident and although Europa League qualification is a possibility, we have no excuse not to give everything for silverware.

Go for it. Man city wont want a league cup final around the time of the champions league last 16 round of games on top of the league no matter how far ahead they are.

Another trophy for us would do very nicely.

I'd be keen to give a few of the squad players a game too. Maybe 3 or 4 fringe players to get an idea on how players are progressing.
