Wes would be more the kick it into row z type of defender. You might scoff at the hoofs but sometimes they are necessary.

The dragon has taken his chance but Wes hasn't been that bad for us this season. Be worth rotating between the main 3 of Wes,Harry and dragovic when the captain gets back.

It's more a matter of the club receiving an offer they can't refuse. Maguire signed a four (?) year contract, can't see us letting him decide whether he goes or not.

When has Wes played it out from the back?

Passing isn't Wes' strongest suit, but he's not that bad - certainly better than Huth. Wes has dribbled it out from the back a few times. :D

Take your point re. "an offer we can't refuse" - and legally, we could force Maguire to stay for the full 4 years, provided he has no buyout clause.

Likewise, we could make Mahrez stay for another 2.5 years or whatever his contract stipulates....but I imagine he'll be going in the summer, provided a vaguely acceptable offer is received.

I'm purely guessing, but imagine that Maguire will be a lot happier to stay if, say, we finish 7th, make the Europa League and go close in the FA Cup.

Of course, we won't let him decide, but his willingness to stay will be one factor in the decision. We won't want to have too many discontented players in the squad.

Sadly, should Maguire continue his good season and the interest in him hots up, the question we may be facing is, Keane to replace Maguire?

has he got a release clause then?

Can't wait for a Fuchs, Huth, Morgan, Simpson line-up again. Just for old time's sake.

Are you related to the Club Blacksmith??

Dragovic is our best defender, reads the game superbly as his positioning and decision making are better than Maguire's. He's a better one on one defender too.

Feel like Morgan would have got a block in for at least one of those goals on Saturday, so often gets in the way

Good shout, but it is going to be tough on Drago if he gets dropped. I said a couple of weeks ago that I preferred him to Maguire, and got bit of blowback, but I stick by that. Maybe playing a back 3 is a way Puel could solve the dilemma.

I was unsure about Drago initially but i'm 100% convinced now. No way Morgan gets back in now.

Preference to live in London, is unimpressed about being dropped and looks unlikely we will get him in the summer.

Palace, Spurs and West Ham are interested.

It's just annoying, considering he has impressed and doesn't really deserve his situation.

Is it true on the Roma, Mahrez agrees switch to there etc, situation?

Hardly shocked. He wouldn’t start at Spurs but he’s so much better than Dier at CB.

FFS, all because slow old Wes is undroppable. This has really pissed me off. Starting to wish the old PL winner boys were all just ****ed off so we can have players who actually listen to and and respect the manager rather than thinking they run the shop and 'jobs for the boys' in the team.

Agreed, our recruitment has been so strong in recent years that its undoubtedly players like Vardy, Mahrez, Morgan, Albrighton, Simpson, etc etc that are holding us back yet we let world beaters like Musa, Mendy and Ron Zieler go.

Would be a missed opportunity if he goes somewhere else. Hardly unsurprising though, what's the point of being here if you have to wait for injuries to get a go.

dragovic looks a decent defender but let’s face it, he isn’t beckenbauer.  Puel was a defender and I trust him to make the right call on this.

Its nothing to do with ability its the living in London that's the problem.

Puel has already said he don't like players living far away.

Criminal if we let him slip away. We need another CB and if we don’t get him we’ll likely end up paying more for a worse player that hasn’t proven he can do the business for us.

Should never have been dropped. We could’ve had Jerome Boateng step in when Wes was injured and he’d still have been dropped because not playing a ‘fit’ Captain Morgan is obviously unthinkable.
