Jaspa Posted 7 January 2018 Posted 7 January 2018 Would be a shame to lose him. He's won me over after I was really unsure in the summer, wanted Keane instead. While Mags has his defensive lapses from time to time and goes walkabout and gives it away up the field every so often, he has some really unique attributes and has steadily improved over the months. If they're serious and want to slap 70m down then wait for the summer and get Ben Mee in, it could work out alright. Priority is here and now though and its working well at the moment with him and looks like it'll improve. So keep n turn the 50 down

lcfc sheff Posted 8 January 2018 Posted 8 January 2018 As someone mentioned earlier, the kinda player you build your team around. He sets the bar for the quality of player we need to be aiming for, to improve and move on from past glories. 4
RoyFox Posted 8 January 2018 Posted 8 January 2018 (edited) No way Puel will sell, he wants to play cultured football not long aimless balls from the back. Attacks can start from CB with accurate passing and drawing opposing attacking players in, thus creating space as it does for Spurs, Chelsea and Man City. An excellent LB next to him with good positioning and pace, and a more athletic CB who’s in his 20’s rather than 30’s, he’ll improve and so will the team. Edited 8 January 2018 by RoyFox 2

Chrysalis Posted 9 January 2018 Posted 9 January 2018 (edited) This forum is brilliant, a tabloid speculates and you all jumping on it like cats on a mouse. rules when deciding the likelyhood of a story 1 - tabloid is the only source - unlikely 2 - no source linked to the player or club is quoted - unlikely 3 - not mentioned on skysports website - unlikely 4 - not mentioned by previous reliable journalists - unlikely this ticks all 4 of the boxes. Now days a defender isnt just about defending, its also about how they contribute to other play, in that maguire excels. Defending is a lot about organisation as well, which I think wes is poor at.
Molson Canadian Posted 9 January 2018 Posted 9 January 2018 MAGUIRE TO MAN CITY? Having broken into the England squad, Leicester defender Harry Maguire is now being linked with a move to Manchester City, Sky Sports News understands. We know that Pep Guardiola is actively trying to sign a central defender this window, but it’s our information that although City do like Maguire, it’s not a deal they’re looking to pursue in January - as things stand. Maguire joined Leicester City in the summer for £17m - and it’s likely to take closer to £50m to prise him away from the King Power Stadium. More affordable options for Man City appear to be West Brom’s Jonny Evans, or Inigo Martinez, who is currently playing for Real Sociedad. From Skysports Transfer Center.
fuchsntf Posted 9 January 2018 Posted 9 January 2018 Dont get it, dont get it at all... I will use this topic to rant on what I consider unnecessay, quite poor thought out negative posts, on any defender... Hardly ever on the front foot, but todays football expected now as an English player, bring more than being a full time stopper, to our game. Maguire, Gomez and Stones, hopefully also Keane, are showing that potential..Maguire is doing it behind the foxes badge.. Defenders, ffs they all make mistakes..give away goals, usually in every game including in those faultless performances. In the last few years the forums, and their posters, go OTT and incorrectly chase down and over analyse every boring mishap, hiccup and mistakes, on individual players, then make a task or issue of pointing them out, to create a platform for their opinions... just to hack-off this or that guy... I.king, F, Mckintock, Storey, Rodrigues, Cross, Sjoberg, Rofe, Whitwoth, Elliot, Taggart, Marshall Walsh, were all fking useless, they made consistent mistakes and bad timed descisions....... I cant advise you neg-chasers, only suggest to quit these silly crusades and lopsided thoughts. You only make yourself angry, and get frustrated, and miss out on great defending, because you are too busy waiting for a movement to fail...Not all breakdowns or slip ups are points to prove poverty, its a natural process, its the attempt the daring to try, that excites the fans. Not forgetting a good old fashion block, outwitting the striker on his run....are great gems alone. I for one am happy those above mentioned, give fans a potentially top moments to saviour. Not forgetting all those honest defenders , who know mistakes will be made, but they can flat out when the easy simple actions, plus a couple of worldlies, pop up more on your EOS CVs. Just my opinion...transfer money is spent/given out on potential, and how your club can advance and use that players skillset....Maguire we got for 15mil, hes filled that need excellently. Hes upped his market worth, if a real top team came calling now , I would ask innocently for ca 50mil. Depending on market and Harry's improving reputation, EOS 60mil plus... That said.. no matter the dower-quoters want, I really want him to stay, and become another defending legend, with LCFC...He gets my vote for our best 2017 Player investment. 1
Lovejoy Posted 9 January 2018 Posted 9 January 2018 Only speculation I know, but as a player, who wouldn't want to play for Pep's Man City team!? If there was tangible interest and Harry Mag was going to get game time, he'll want that move.
st albans fox Posted 9 January 2018 Posted 9 January 2018 Sky two days behind the papers then - nothing changes and it makes it no less/more likely
yorkie1999 Posted 9 January 2018 Posted 9 January 2018 So he's being linked to man city, but they don't want him. What idiot writes that sort of stuff?
Wymsey Posted 9 January 2018 Posted 9 January 2018 I noticed that Sky Sports repeats the transfer rumours etc around a day or so from other sources.. Thought they'd, with the money they have, be the first for all rumours etc?
