Grow up and get behind Riyad, or: stop listening to the press and wait and see how he reacts on the pitch

right now, 75-80 million

So then the owners haven't really done anything wrong no?

I would have thought he'd think the bid man city put in was abit insulting considering the prices they've paid for laporte. Who they say needs working on.

He downs tools and refuses to play? I'm with you.

Until that point people need to stop believing the shit they read in the press.

Journalists have an interest in creating a story to sell to you. They have motive to create this shit so you'll click their websites and buy their rags.

Rob Dorsett reports as much sensational crap as the rest of them, that's his career.

Riyad has never behaved in any way other than completely professional.

He did exactly that yesterday. Didn't show for training and left his teammates high a dry for a premier league game. Very professional

How many top-drawer players have we signed in the

last years?

How many of our signings of the last 2 years have made

it into our starting line-up?

Do we  have a transfer strategy?

I doubt it.

That was not the point being made.It was that we would struggle to get talent to come because of our owners. We may well struggle because of other things but doubt it is our owners.

Not really, we will look ridiculous playing hard ball wanting 90 million for a player and then to cave and  him a release clause a massive 5 million more than city's best offer just because he's decided to go missing for three days.

the damage is done i feel, just make him forfeit his bonuses and get it done with

they asked for 95 million cash. i think for what he helped the club achieve, he could get 5 million knocked off. city want 75 and man city will pay 65, just settle it at 70

Good. That's good news. Further goes to show the false reports and sensationalism around the whole thing because they haven't got a better story.

Reports today that we wanted 80m cash at the time of Man City's final offer, so I think we may have already knocked 15m off during negotiations.

Why should he get 5 mill knocked off? If man city had said they'd give 75. The owners would have probably taken it. If not 80. Should we add 5 million on for everything the club has done for him? Because that seems to be getting lost here.

Can you explain the reasoning behind why we knock 5 off for what he's done for us but don't add more on for what we've done for him? (Not having a go, just curious)

I respect what he's done here, I respect the way he has played this season despite wanting to move, however, There's certain ways you conduct yourself in situations like that and the difference was Kante and Drinkwater remained professional, Riyads deadline day antics of going missing, turning up in airports, handing transfer requests, and as I have heard apparently going nuts at not being allowed to move (backed up by Puel admitting to the press he had difficulty controlling his emotions)  is laughable, quite literally laughable, I find it hilarious.

I can however see why it would wind certain section of the fan base up though so while I personally will be hoping he knuckles down an helps us finish off a very good season and am very much looking forward to the next episode of Leicester City Prison Break. I can see why people would be severely fcked off. So no sorry I'm not going to take a holier than thou everyone should  get behind him attitude if people want to be annoyed I think they are well within their rights. He will go when a fee is agreed, if anyone needs to grow up it's him.

Not sure drinky remained professional from what I have read, and Kante was clearly in contact with Chelsea before the title season was done.

But apart from that, and most of the rest of the post, I totally agree.with you.  The bit about holier than thou worked well.

What a load of bollox. Nobody is holding Mahrez prisoner , he signed a four year contract with a massive pay hike, nobody forced him to. He has made it clear he wants to leave and the owners have made it clear he can leave when our valuation of him is met , up to now nobody has met that valuation so he remains under contract to us. HE IS BEHAVING LIKE A BELLEND footballer.

every body wish that this affair come to an end znd mshrez rein grate the team znd be ready for Saturday   we need him

if not I'm afraid that the case if mahrez will grow to become a law changing case   the mahrez case

every body in sports football are  becoming intersted in his saga on how owners block players from their moves from their dreams and how their manipulate facts unseen facts to infkuence business trends but in mahrez case it did happen for the fourth time and he became aware and ready to deal with it as he get z new agent Kia and determinant to not allow businessman outplay the future if footballers and things will finish by a new law n FIFA called after mahrez ( mahrez law ) znd he will get his move at the expenses of Leicester city owners

mzhrez law ; ( definition)  is a footballer abused by his club owners in stating verbal agreement in the contract as a release clause and puting the footballer in weak position to work out a move

hope this is true hahaha

Bit confused as to why he'd be at "lcfc" wherever that is if there was no training. Sort of just shows you'll believe what you want to believe.

Still in a ideal world I'd like him and indeed mr Peters to be right, although Geoff said it was business as usual today which is odd given someone else claims there was no business today, and it certainly wasn't business as usual last night.

Time will tell with this, but at the very least will be amazed if he's in the squad Saturday.

i don’t think that random guy is right but it would be well funny if he was.

isnt “business as usual” nobody coming to training when we had an away game 12 hours before?

nah i doubt he will, he’ll be back next week and in the eleven for man city and rinse the shit out of them and nobody will even remember this ever happened.

They did not offer 65M. They offered 50M and an unknown player THEY valued at 15M. Maybe we would have taken a deal at around 70M if Man City did not try to bully us with this last minute pressure and have Mahrez go sulky.

Absolutely right. Been saying this all day. Offer was probably nothing like £65m. It's like us saying to another club we'll offer £50m plus Ahmed Musa who we value at £15m, that's a £65m offer. Well it isn't is it?
