Many sports experts and pundits have  urged lcfc to include a release clause in his contract ( a revisited one ) :  rob Dorset  James redknap  izzy Musset     Rob tanner   Robie savage Martin Keon

Izzy Musset lollol just lollol are you even a Leicester fan?

They want £80m don't they

Not in the summer, not after what happened. We'll be lucky if we get 70M out of him.

Amazingly these players are all too ready to sign contracts which then become meaningless.

Just what is his Agent advising him because he clearly can't think for himself?

Who the fucks Izzy Musset?

Fuck off you clearly know naff all about our club and you are actually support Mahrez the player - once he’s gone so will you.

Listen, I wanna see Mahrez playing for us again, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t but he either grows up, comes back and performs which will ultimately get him his move in the summer - through hard work or I want the club the make him see his contract out sitting on the bench or playing with the under 23’s maybe even training in solitary for 2.5 years.

The balls in your court Riyad, I know which one I’d choose.

Manchester City won't come back in. They only wanted cover for Sane.

Yes they will, They'll do there homework on him now and be back in the Summer as will Arsenal, Liverpool and maybe Chelsea.

His agent has played his hand very well, an unhappy player at a club where thousands now feel nothing but animosity towards him. It's a tactic that has worked every time so far.

It's now down to whether the club play hard ball and hold out for the fee we wanted or let him go on the "cheap". Personally I would take a stand but ultimately I expect him to go for £50 million in the summer and then everyone has a go at little old Leicester for not even getting their £65 Million.

Manchester City never wanted him until they realised Sane was out. The only club that's ever shown genuine interest before was Roma. I thought Arsenal might go for him after losing Sanchez but they got a direct replacement in Mikatarean (and he got 3 assists on his debut).

the finest post so far ( start reading from listen .....)

mahrez affair is between him and the owners. the signs if it :

- marc albrighton s declaration that the players aren't angry upo him

- puel declaring that he focuses on his players and the game ( leave it to the owners )

- Pfa proposing to mediate

mahrez have arrived to conclusion that the owners haven't stood on their word ( a verbal agreement ) and he missed out a golden opportunity and man city will not come for him in the summer .  mahrez came to conclusion ( no trust in the owners ) and his adviser ( Kia ) is working towards a new start on a new basis ( we may hear new developments )

Fair point but not quite true. They made an inquiry in the Summer but were given no encouragement. I think they were happy to wait until the Summer until they suffered the injuries. When they get to Study our match videos and see how good he really is they will be back. As will others.

It's a pity really because he is developing into a truly great player without the pressure that comes with being in the spotlight.

No they don't, There legally binding on both parties unless a court decides otherwise.

I doubt very much if his agent is advising him to down tools as that would lead to the Agent possibly being sued buy the Club also.

Mahrez really needs to get back to work and try and negotiate a way forward. The longer he stays away and causes embarrassment to the club, The more likely they are to dig their heels in.

Certainly a release clause would, perhaps, make the amount required clear for all parties.   However given that Mahrez is currently in breach of his contract there needs to be a date agreed, before which he comes back to the club, and performs the duties he agreed to in his contract of last year.  Should he not do this then I really feel that he needs to be warmed that the club can keep his registration and not transfer him until the end of his contract.  Of course that has financial implications for the owners but it has massive implications for his future as well.  Even if he does return to train and play there is no guarantee that he is going to give 100 per cent and might well not do this?

He's on their tabs since last summer and Guardiola rates him. They surely wanted to see how he'll fare this season before moving their pawns. Sané's injury hastened a move which should have only come in the summer. With 57M already spent on Laporte it was clear that they wouldn't spend more than what they offered.

If he continues to strike and either refuses to play or if he does, but with a degree of idleness like last year, then even in the current inflated market, his reputation and value will plummet as has been pointed out by many on here.

Ideally some sensible negotiations will take place and he'll continue to play like he has been this season,  when he will go in the summer for a fair and reasonable price at a time when we could reasonably have the opportunity to find a replacement.

Should he continue his behaviour, he should continue to be fined the deemed reasonable and maximum possible in law. If he maintains his stance, thereby effectively denying our owners up to half or more of his true value as it inevitably plummets due to his actions, then I think legal advice should be sought as to whether they could put a direct claim in against him personally for compensation against such losses. Whilst I don't think that this has been done before or whether it is even possible,  such threatened action should serve to focus his mind on the expenses it would cost him personally to defend such action against him and he would learn what real pressure and depression is!  He should be informed in no uncertain terms that he will only be released at the end of his contract whereupon he will be nearly 30 and his hopes of a bright career will be effectively over. This would effectively cost our owners about 30m + and whatever wages they have to pay him that couldn't be  clawed back in fines.

I wouldn't underestimate our owners business stubbornness and price they put on respect and sense of fair play. Whilst they would be out of pocket massively, it would show both players and 'bigger' teams that they are a force to be reckoned with.

God I'm in a vindictive mood today!
