Anyone cutting out beer for sober October? Probably the wrong thread

No chance of Sober October around here … first week of the month was Cleveland Beer Week.  Barrel aged stout/barleywine brunches the last two Sunday mornings.

Geek Week over now … back to drinking one ale at a time instead of a table full of motor oil-weight brews.

Well. I had a theakston pale ale from the Hind this evening. Staff were great and beer had been kept to an acceptable level. Will go again prior to using the station. Four choices on cask!

Ale Wagon was busy tonight, good to see. Had a bitter shandy for the first time (driving), interesting taste.

Side note but had a tin of Ben Shaw's shandy in the chippy the other day and it was so refreshing. Used to love a Shandy Bass back in the day.

Any Harrogate suggests from our Yorkshire dwellers? (Where is bloody MTWG!)

He seems to hibernate. Will be all over a few threads for a couple of months and then nothing as if it never happened. Hopefully back talking about pints soon.

Any recommendations for Chester? There next weekend with the missus (she's five months pregnant so doesn't need to be anywhere with a decent gin selection too).

Three out of three for good boozers so far - Old Harkers Arms, Cavern of the Curious Gnome (very Belgian and German-oriented) and Deva Tap.

Westwood Cheshire Cat pale in the Old Harkers went down a treat after diving in there to get out of the hale this morning.

I like the little Ale House in Harrogate. Tend to get a drink there each time I go and I'm pretty close by.

Been out today with a good mate and done the Bemondsey beer mile. Some absolutely cracking boozers, and some great pints and food. Millwall Away is now a must do do it again

Bumped into him in Loughborough a few weeks back and he said he’s not returning

He'll be back for Eurovision, he won't be able to help himself. That thread is more entertaining than Eurovision itself, and it wouldn't be the same without him.

I’ve been asked to do some work for the Leicester Oktoberfest at the end of the month.

Anyone ever been before - any good?!

Currently sipping a Thormbridge Brother Rabbit. They never miss, do they?

Lovely beer. It's the North Norfolk malt, best in the world.

I’ve definitely asked this many times in the past, but off to Brum on Saturday. Any good recommendations for beer and food? Done Purity, POV and a few others a few times, not against doing them again but would be good to try somewhere new.
