What did we learn today?

Recommended Posts

I’ll start it

1) for a well spoken boy, chilwell is a bit thick

2) Morgan’s method of playing the player and not  the ball isn’t worth sticking with - bin the player

continue please

If you've only just learnt these from today, I'd say you were the one who is a bit... 'thick' as you like to put it...

That we can't use the same cautious tactics that serve us well away from home, in home games - just can't be playing 5 across midfield hoping to get one on the break. Too easy for Newcastle today by far.

1) Choudhury played well. Could possibly be a good understudy for Ndidi next season.

2) Possession football with no attacking urgency doesn’t get results.

3) Puel has steered so far from our previous counter attacking, direct style of play. Possession should have been another cog in the machine, not a replacement for an effective model our club has built foundations around for years. We can still beat parked buses playing our previous style, as proven in the second half of 15/16 and also Shakespeare’s run in 16/17.

4) Realistically, what are the solutions we need in order for Puel’s philosophy to work? New signings? Imo we’d need 5 new first team players: RB, CB, LB, Mahrez replacement and a number 10. So for Puel’s philosophy to work all these players need to settle, gel with the squad, buy into Puel’s style and make an immediate impact if we want to progress next year.

5) Overall, if we persist with Puel I think we’re more likely to be in a relegation battle next season instead of pushing for Europe.

Today has confirmed that Puel isn't the right manager to take us forward and don't even think about 7th as we will be lucky to get top 10. Can't see where we will get another win with our current form. A lucky win over Brighton and a  decent performance against a dreadful WBA side just papered over the cracks. I say get rid now and put Appleton in charge till  the summer. Can't be any worse than what we are producing at the moment. We know We have decent players but Puel is clueless

1) While didn't impact at all in attack Choudhury did really well at the defensive side, tracked runs well and put in some great last ditch challenges. If Iborra isn't fit then start him against Burnley.

2) Morgan and Simpson need to be dropped just not good enough for how we want to play and are making game costing mistakes, imagine the outrage if Chilwell left the man and ball for the second goal.

3) Albrighton needs to be moved to Rb, in this system he can't play as a winger as he doesn't run at defenders and his crosses are quite poor recently.

Choudhury has a place in the prem.

Diabaté will develop into a great flair player.

We have no RB

Albrighton and Mahrez can't take free kicks or corners
