Morgan is a legend. No question. Top player for us. However, so was John Terry for Chelsea. He is the wrong side of 30 and just like Terry had to move on, so does Morgan. We need to continually evolve and having Morgan as main CB next year and going forward, will not be in our or Wes best interest. Does not mean he should leave at the end of this year as he still has a role to play (on and off the pitch) as a squad player. However, we need to think of a younger CB partnership for the next five years or so.

Surely he's dropped for Saturday?

It will be really interesting to see if he is. I'm not sure if Puel has the cojones to do it though.

Dropped? No way. We'll have a relatively new CM pairing, you don't compound that with a changed CB pairing.

IMHO, Drago and Morgan offer different things, it's not as simple as one being better than the other. I personally prefer Drago as a player (I'd guess CP might too) but the difference in the team is not clear cut. Morgan is by no means crap and brings something to the team, not just as captain but as a player, that Drago doesn't.

That said, Morgan is at the tail end of his career so you can't expect too much more out of him. I'd expect him to finish out the season though, barring injury.

Sentiment gets you nowhere in football. He shouldn’t be near the team now although the poster above makes a solid point about pairings for the next match.

Pretty much agree with that. In fact I've been surprised how well he has done since coming back from his injury. He has not let us down. You never have to think whether Wes will give 100% he does this every week -  he is the first to throw himself in front of the ball. Yes his distribution is not as good as his defending but he's been a fantastic buy for a £1M. I think this may be his last season as a first choice CB but if it is he goes out with his sword and shield held high to join Walsh, Elliott, Worthington, Weller, Izzet, Lenny, Banks, Shilton, Lineker as true legends of the club. It will be a sad day when we no longer see Wes on the pitch at the King Power.

Whether people think he's at the end of his career or not, I really think he deserves a lot better than some of the derogatory comments on here by keyboard warriors that have never kicked a ball at a decent level in their lives yet know it all. I ask one thing of any player that puts on our clubs shirt and that is to try to the best of their ability however good or bad that is. Wes for me had always done that. Some wonder why players are remote to supporters at times. One look at some of the comments on here should answer that.

There's every possibility we could lose Maguire in the Summer.

Huth might be finished.

Drago might leave.

Then we'll be up to our necks in bob.

Be careful what you wish for.

There’s a strong chance we could be in a desperate situation.. Vardy, Maguire, Mahrez and Ndidi could realistically all go....

That would be a disaster summer. If they're unhappy with the current regime then why wouldn't they push for moves?

Let Dragovic start and bring Morgan on in the latter stages of the second half in have a where the team is winning.

Ridiculous idea. You don't substitute a centre half during a game that you're winning unless enforced by injury or very exceptional circumstances, not just to give a player a run out.

sadly i think it might be his last season with us, given the way we are looking to play now(doesnt always look comfortabel passing it about and that to me) and age is catching up with him too,

always will be a legend for me though after all hes done at the club

Wes was appalling, no getting around that. His worst performance for some time absolutely no question.

But I don't think it's a coincidence considering the centre of midfield were offering so little protection compared to normal. Kante protecting Huth and Morgan made them league winners. N'didi protecting the back line, like Kante means the CB's aren't pulled out of position anywhere near as often as they were Saturday as he's mopping stuff up in front of them. Wes was all over the place as there was far too much space around them.

who is going to buy Vardy out of the top 6 sides?  Given his age and fee and for which of them would he start every week?

to me the answer is none of them

How? Are they not all under contract? I don´t get this discussion about players leaving in the middle of their 3-4 or 5 year contracts. Are they not binding, or can players come and leave as they please?

Thats not realistic.

Indeed... the owners haven't let Mahrez go, so why people think they would suddenly sell all of our best players I have no idea.

No player should be un-dropable because they happen to be the Captain. ManU's club captain is Carrick, has rarely played this season. Across the road at the Tigers the Captain is Tom Youngs, a couple of months into the season they signed the Australian international hooker, Polota-Nau, who has become the first choice, with Young's on the bench.

If Morgan was dropped this week I’d have massive respect for Puel. Unfortunately he appears to have far too much influence within the squad for that to happen. What would we actually lose if he didn’t play?  Nothing at all in terms of football ability and no visible leadership qualities on the pitch. If he keeps his place I fear that he will be starting next season too which is ridiculous

Puel needs to show some balls

well in that case Riyad Mahrez should never play for the club again, wouldn't want to be hypocrites now would we

I'm not sure why you don't get this. It's in our interest to shop window Mahrez to the tune of many pound notes.

Imagine what it says to the squad if we play a loan player whos said he ain't bothered about us. And don't play committed players.
