The current going rate for top Championship players is £12-15m. I appreciate inflated market and all that but it is still a huge jump to £20m.

But we probably are paying 12-15m with a neverending list of add ons. I'm just trying to understand why anyone still worries about fees. The fact is it's a business and there's not a chance in hell they'd ever reveal the actual fee so they just pick a number out of the air that suits both sets of fans from a PR perspective or say undisclosed.

I wouldn't flinch at £20m. 

 

Seems like a good deal if we can get him for that.  He'll double his value in 12 months.

I'm not particularly worried, just shocked at how many now consider it the norm. It does make me chuckle that so many of the people in this thread acting like it's nothing, or critisising those who think the fees are a tad ludicrous, are some of the very first ones to lose their shit when they realise we've spent £25m on a donkey. (Not saying that's you by the way.)

Without sounding more of a bimbo or anything will Maddison be a replacement for Mahrez? Or is Roberts the intended replacement? In which case who would Maddison be replacing? Shinji/Silva/Nacho? Or is he just an addition to the squad? 

 

And if we do get Maddison will we still want Roberts. If not then will then will the Mahrez to Man City deal have to be looked at again with just an offer of £££ ?
