The company which owns Leicester City Football Club could buy a substantial part of Thailand's second tallest building.

Duty free giant King Power, which has owned Leicester City since 2010, may acquire a large part of the MahaNakhon tower in Bangkok.

A King Power source has said the company has settled on a purchase deal with development company Pace, the Bangkok Post reports .

The source told the Bangok Post that King Power chief executive Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha founded a new subsidiary, King Power MahaNakhon Co, last month with registered capital of 1 million baht.

The unique looking skyscraper, which was completed in 2016, is the 88th tallest building in the world, at 1,030 ft.

There are 77 floors in the building, which is made up of apartments, shops, hotels, and an observatory.

The building has won several awards for design from numerous bodies.

King Power is said to have acquired the remaining units and the observation deck for more than 10 billion baht.

They seem to be buying up a lot of stuff at the moment. May have something to do with the fact they won't be allowed the airport monopoly they've had all this time. Comes to an end next year doesn't it? Also a pending corruption trial..

Do they still have a court hearing into something over them, or has the case been dismissed?

it's actually the building to the left, half-cropped. It's not the main fancy building everyone first sees...

I don't think it's hard to see where the Architects may have got their inspiration.

Or laugh at the misuse of Lego in the design process. I’m slightly concerned about what the ground expansions going to look like now if that’s regarded as a good looking building.

That's a lot of money. Now I understand it's an asset on a portfolio. But I'd love to know how long it takes to see a return on your investment in terms of cash via rental income etc. If imagine a long while. What a world to live in.

Isn’t it known as an appreciating asset. As in it doesn’t make a lot on a monthly basis but the value rises in time. Pretty much how they view us I suppose.

Almost like they're trying to tie up their money so that they can have a lesser fine.
