On the plus side, Chilly, Demari, Diabte played well, and even though Vards wasn't quite at his best he still scored like the champion he is. Well in!

On the not-so-plus side. That was the worst performance I have seen from Wes Morgan. Silva and Simpson were poor too, but Wes was playing another level, so poor was his positioning, pace, communication and passing. Abysmal. It was almost astonishingly bad. The only possible silver-lining is maybe this abject performance will spur Puel to drop him. Wes has been average to poor since returning from injury, but this was an abject performance. And it's all the more galling when we have Drago on the bench, who formed a terrific relationship with Harry and was a solid, no frills, sensible player. Wes is a liability we cannot afford, and if he isn't dropped after that monstrosity then there is something seriously amiss.

I don't enjoy saying that. Wes is a club legend and I'll always love him. But on that performance, combined with other poor showings, clearly demonstrates that he needs to go for the good of the team.

I hope the players still find motivation now that Europe is gone. Here's hoping.

They haven't found motivation for 2 months, they couldn't give a rat's rump about EL.

Makers of our own down fall today. Screwed it the first 10minutes - I felt the right side of our defence, Simpson and Morgan was very weak all game. Other than that I thought we had a decent second half. Iheanacho played well after coming for Okazaki. Silva and Choudury had decent games.

We created a couple of decent chances - the goal aside - so it wasn't all doom and gloom. Battled back well but not to be this season. Probably is season over all but mathematically but I think not playing in Europe will likely be a blessing in the long run as we need this summer to transition more towards Puel's ideology without the additional pressure of competing on a fourth front.

Season isn't over yet guys. We could still get into Europe:

A) Burnley drop 9 points and we catch up.

B) Arsenal win the Europa League while a top 6 team wins the FA Cup. 8th place could get into Europa League.

Really?

Thought the midfield was decent second half and Nacho and Diabetes were good subs. Morgan and Simpson were the weak links. Silva and Choudhury were good second half. Was quite impressed with choudhury actually especially in that defensive role just in front of the defenders.

What a complete bullshit post. Worthy of an Arsenal fan.

Burnley may not have the individual superstars but play as a unit. Whether they can they keep it up next year who knows, but to say they are shit seems to ignore their league position. After this many games they are where they deserve to be, as are we

Burnley hardly strung two passes together all game. We were far superior in general play but gifted them 2 goals, sadly.  And Ashley Barnes has to be the biggest #$@$ in the history of the game. Spent the whole game diving and whining and then put in that awful tackle on Kasper. Thought we played some nice stuff until we got desperate and started hitting it long too much in the last 10 minutes. Even in the first half we had 3 good chances.

Puel to go and please take Morgan and Simpson too.

Not bothered if Kasper follows either.

Need a clear out I think now. Need to spend some big money in every position of the pitch

Puel in for sure. Players who cannot manage intensity at the start of the match out. We can lose Morgan, Simpson, Huth, Benny, OKazaki, Kasper, and Mahrez IMO. Time for the big reset, let Puel build us a team that will play hard and that can fuching finish for god's sake.

Vardy needs some real competition as well, he was shocking today, just awful.

Kasper player of the year last season

Simpson our second best player last season

Morgan was playing well before he got injured

Okazaki was on fire at the start of the season

Vardy 90% of the time looks too much of an isolated figure

They are not bad players, something has all of a sudden changed and fans are starting to call them write offs.

You might as well sell the majority of the squad because they just don't suit Puel's methods, we have defenders who aren't comfortable on the ball, none of our midfielders can keep the ball well enough, whoever we play in the number 10 role has been non exsistent, while Vardy is getting goals but he has looked isolated quite a lot recently.

I thought the rule was max of 7 teams per country for euro competions

Obvious who the better team was. Same old individuals making errors.

We don't need a new manager. We need a change in personnel on the pitch. If that requires a new manager then fair enough. But the tactics are not our problem.

Schmeichel's position needs to be questioned.

Morgan needs to hang up his boots. Looked p*ssed today.

Simpson isn't a footballer.

Gray is not good enough.

Change Pope and Tarkowski for Kasper and Morgan and we win that game. Simple.

Next season...

New keeper

Amartey or new rb

Drag

Maguire

Chilwell

(HOLDING)

Ndidi

Iborra

(WINGS)

Diabate

Mahrez replacement

Vardy and Iheanacho up top.

time between Kante leaving and Ndidi arriving we pretty had both centre halfs exposed. Give our captain a break. As long we played like the better team most of the game I have no worries for next season

This team consistently plays just poorly enough to not get the results you'd think would equal the talent level.  This is the hardest conundrum for any team to solve as changing out one or two parts might solve it - but the question is which parts? Or do you change the manager (again)? To me coming out flat in the first 10 minutes of a match you need to have is pretty inexcusable.  They came into the game in the 2nd half but again too late.  Honestly I'm not sure how you solve this.  Poor defending at key times has held this club back all season.

But this style of possession dominance only gets us mid table at best. We lack the killer instinct of two seasons ago. We need to mix it up a bit more. We cant do counter attacking all the time but we do not so this anymore which makes us easy to defend against in the final third.

Completely agree on today -  so maybe my comment was unfair on the poster. Personally I thought we played much better today. Moved the ball faster and had a sense of urgency. We created chances that on another day...............

Shocking first 10 minutes cost us though.

You're right, 8th won't ever get Europa unless they win the cup

Mate you need to fast forward a bit. We're now in 2018.

Would get rid of all 3 in a heart beat, shocking footballers, offer nothing to the team

and gray, allegedly a promising player, hasn’t shown anything to suggest that the last few seasons

Problem with Gray is he believes hes a hell of a lot better than he is, and the attitude goes with it.

I’m not part of the Puel our brigade, I think he needs a transfer window. However I’d imagine the target was Europe, which obviously isn’t going to happen, so I think he will get the sack.

As for the game, spineless. It takes us about an hour to get going, were too predictable and too static. Major changes needed in the summer, otherwise the fairytale will be complete with a return to the championship.

I doubt Europe was ever on the table, when he took the job!

Puell needs to stop playing Wes and Simpson surely Albrighton would be better than Simpson and Dragovic sitting on the bench whilst Morgan is what is a shame to say but out of his depth and well off the pace and should be nowhere near the first team spot that Puell keeps handing him week in week out !

After today’s dissapointment the only think now left to play for is pride and I really hope our players step up to the mark and don’t just throw in the towel but give the fans decent displays for the last few games !!

I was a wee bit concerned looking at the midfield with Mahrez and Gray not exactly hard workers both in. Okazaki was not going to be the difference either and Silva and Hamza are hardly established. that said we made our usual sloppy start but this time we got punished properly.

they didn’t have to stretch after that. i’m fuming but will spare the so and so out and drop x y and z till the dust has settled. F*** !

Pretty sure if Arsenal win Europa League and Liverpool win the Champions League, everyone down to about Swansea will be in Europe lol
