I guess everything at Chelsea is on hold at the mo...

Yep. Maybe we're about to see what happens when a multi-billionaire owner pulls out of a "top club"? Though I suppose some other multi-billionaire might pop up if Abramovich wants to pull his money out.

Would be nice if they suffered some sort of implosion and slid down the leagues, though. :D

Abramovich has reportedly been granted Israeli citizenship and is set to move to Tel Aviv: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/may/28/roman-abramovich-granted-israeli-citizenship-tel-aviv-chelsea

Future looks a bit cloudy for Chelsea fans: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44315033

Stadium plans on hold and doesn't sound as if that's going to change any time soon:

"Chelsea issued a statement saying the club had delayed work on Stamford Bridge because of "the current unfavourable investment climate".

It added: "No further pre-construction design and planning work will occur. The club does not have a time frame set for reconsideration of its decision."

Wolves signed Afobe for £12mill lol

Bournemouth made a profit on him, something I thought wouldn't happen.

Absolutely nothing in this market. Probably couldn't even buy you Nick Powell.

So their idea of making big waves, splashing the cash, signing big names and pushing the top 6, is to resign a player for more than they sold him for after he couldn't cut it in the premier league. They've also made Boly permanent. Good player, but hardly improving the squad is it.

Oh agree, I just don't rate him at all at this level.

They can't as you're not allowed to play your home games in two different stadiums in one season, I believe they've asked for their first few games to be away.

That is correct but they could always bend the rules for their beloved Spurs.

The first few games won't need to be away, just reverse the home fixtures if it's possible so only 1 or 2 fixtures would need changing, like West Ham last season due to the athletics.

What does become a problem is when it's against teams with another side in the same city or like us, next to a rugby club. No doubt they'll be on Sky Super Sundays though.

Afobe is only there to be 2nd or 3rd choice. It's barely into June FFS. It's a bit early to be critical of a lack of transfer activity.

As for Boly. Yeah we should have not bothered signing our best defender permanently for the pittance of £10m and weakened the squad instead...   Melt.

I know it early, I'm just saying I'm not impressed. You need to improve not stand still. I'm not being critical of the lack of activity, I'm being critical of the actual activity. They are both obvious signing and you've spent £22m and got nowhere for it. I'm just saying all the big talk, if you continue at this level of activity, you're not going anywhere but back where you came from.

Criticising loans being made into permanent signings is a bizarre argument. Are you suggesting we should have let them go back to their clubs and spent the money on different players instead? Even though the likes of Boly and Jota can clearly make the step up a league, and Afobe has been there before?

And it's £32m we've already spent on three players (Jota, Boly, Afobe). Yet that still means absolutely nothing in terms of the level of player we are targeting in the next two months.

In any case, we'll be signing Rui Patricio (GK) in the next couple of weeks from Sporting Lisbon for €18m (once his wrangle with their president is sorted out) and then probably Andre Silva for €35m from AC Milan once the World Cup is over. And that's just the ones we've heard about.

At this rate, half of your team will be Portuguese comes the start of the new season!

Looking to make some really shrewd additions this summer, I can see Wolves staying up comfortably.

André Silva is an ambitious one, I'd question whether he'd want to a newly-promoted Premier League side, seeing that Milan are playing in the Europa League next campaign.

Milan are in big trouble regards FFP. They could even be excluded from the Europa League. They need cash and Silva only got 2 league goals all season and hasn't settled there at all. They are willing to cash in on him for roughly what they paid for him.

I don't get the hype around A. Silva. He's always looked average whenever I've watched him play for Portugal & he's scoring record in Italy is poor. Why is he rated @ £20-30m?? :dunno:

Everyone is going for twice or three times as much as they actually should be these days. Unless you're moving from Leicester, then it's half.

My question should have been, why are teams trying to sign him? I think he'd flop at wolves. Boly on the other hand, a steal for £10m:appl:

Why are you so desperate for praise on another clubs forum? If you don’t like the fact that not everybody thinks Wolves are gonna be world beaters in a few years then do one instead of giving attitude

Don't understand all the fuss Wolves paying £12m for Afobe. Very cheap in this market.

Me either, who cares, I'm only interested in who Leicester sign or let go whilst watching one of my LCFC DVDs, guess which one :scarf:

Their Chinese owner is supposed to put more money in as cash injection. Could go either way.

Oh look Wolves aren't the next man City who knew lol lol

Bit like us coming up and signing Ulloa that is. No harm in it, could do worse. But it pretty much signals their level which is not really all that far off any other promoted team.

Pretty confident they'll stay up like.

I'm not sure how replying to a ridiculous argument means I'm seeking praise, and for a basic transfer practice that I didn't even bring up.

Yeah sorry for that.

Calling him a melt because he doesn’t think your business has been anything special so far
