The Bear Posted 3 June 2018 Posted 3 June 2018 It is a melt argument. We haven't done any business so far. Converting loans hardly counts even if they cost money to do.

So does that mean we can sell Ulloa and Musa for 12m each? 7 hours ago, The Bear said: Criticising loans being made into permanent signings is a bizarre argument. Are you suggesting we should have let them go back to their clubs and spent the money on different players instead? Even though the likes of Boly and Jota can clearly make the step up a league, and Afobe has been there before? And it's £32m we've already spent on three players (Jota, Boly, Afobe). Yet that still means absolutely nothing in terms of the level of player we are targeting in the next two months. In any case, we'll be signing Rui Patricio (GK) in the next couple of weeks from Sporting Lisbon for €18m (once his wrangle with their president is sorted out) and then probably Andre Silva for €35m from AC Milan once the World Cup is over. And that's just the ones we've heard about. Don't be so sure that wrangles with Sporting Lisbon president are easily sorted out. Could drag on a long time. As for Silva if he has a good world cup he won't sign for a non-european playing club. If ha has a bad world cup do you really want him? I think you're counting chickens before they're hatched but good luck anyway.

Wymsey Posted 3 June 2018 Posted 3 June 2018 Wenger spotted in Cambridge. He should stop looking for another club role and just retire, especially after How Arsenal had quite declined under him in the end imo.

Suzie the Fox Posted 3 June 2018 Posted 3 June 2018 Fwiw i think Afobe is a great signing. I would be super happy to see him in a LCFC shirt.
Samilktray Posted 3 June 2018 Posted 3 June 2018 Huddersfield interested in Andre Silva. Time for Wolves to get used to competing with the bigger boys for players.
jammie82uk Posted 3 June 2018 Posted 3 June 2018 Liverpool and Everton are set to compete for £30 million rated Jamaal Lascelles
jammie82uk Posted 3 June 2018 Posted 3 June 2018 Ramadan Sobhi released from Egypt squad to have a medical at Huddersfield

kingcarr21 Posted 4 June 2018 Posted 4 June 2018 Cant wait for Wolves to fail in signing all these 'big name players' and end up getting Peter Crouch on deadline day. (Saying that though I would love to get Crouchy in a LCFC shirt, what a player )

Finnegan Posted 4 June 2018 Posted 4 June 2018 The Wolves reaction to Huddersfield and Silva really makes me hope they get a heavy crash back down to earth. You boys can laugh at Huddersfield when you've survived a season and you can look down at them when you've finished above them consistently and established yourselves. Some of the Wolves MELTS on twitter with their MELT tweets about "little" Huddersfield show a massive lack of humility. We might have a fair few cringe worthy nobs following Leicester but at least they mostly waited until we WON THE PREMIER LEAGUE before they started being arrogant tits about transfers. As for Silva himself, remember those Vardy shooting stats? A goal every 3.5 shots I think it was? Over 20 odd goals despite the team being hit and miss this year? Yeah well the great prospect Andre Silva managed two goals for Milan last year at an economy of one every 17.5 shots. Two teams in a likely relegation dog fight together look to be about his level tbf.
The Bear Posted 4 June 2018 Posted 4 June 2018 I wouldn't pay any attention to idiots on Twitter. There's some right tools on there who think it's fun baiting other fans and teams. AIDS for the eyes. As for Silva, his reputation comes from the previous season with Porto. 16 goals in 32 games and 5 in the Champions League. Ronaldo even cited him as the future of Portugal after he retires. He just didn't fit at Milan. Gattuso isn't the easiest manager to get on with apparently, the style of play hasn't suited him and he's struggled. Although he did score 6 goals in 10 games in the Europa League as well. I remember Arsenal fans being concerned at signing Bergkamp because he went to Italy and failed. Sometimes you just don't fit a certain country or club. You can't write players off because of one bad season. ---------- We're bring linked with Joao Cancelo again today. Would love to sign him!
Finnegan Posted 4 June 2018 Posted 4 June 2018 Not trying to piss on your chips but Cancelo is a classic example of "he's fast and he can dribble a bit but he's not good enough to be a winger, we'll chuck him at full back." Defensively suspect doesn't begin to cover it.

Defensively suspect doesn't begin to cover it. Funnily enough I checked him out on YouTube a few months ago when Portugal named a friendly squad. Wanted to check out their fullbacks as we are likely to buy one or two. He's very impressive on the ball and crossing is good, but I also agree he looks more like a winger. Thankfully as a wing-back his defensive responsibilities would be limited.

Indeed. We generally do it here after one game. After that, we just wait for the bloke to fail and only notice what he did wrong. No matter how he plays, he's shit anyway.
