I'd forgotten about those blocked Ulloa and Vardy chances second half. Agonisingly close.

I still picture them going in sometimes.

Not saying we would have gone through, but it would have been fantastic just to have 5 minutes of us piling forward at them to try and get the 3rd, the noise level and atmosphere would have been absolutely off the scale, it was already seriously loud.

I don't think I've ever been prouder than that night. Every single one of us in that stadium sang our hearts out even as we realised our adventure was coming to an end.

Considering we were supposed to be an embarrassment to English football, we didn't do too bad did we!

When Kasabian came on that night, it felt like everyone sang along with it too. That's the loudest I've ever heard us, Sevilla maybe a close second?

We had a team that rarely ever loses composure rocking that night. They did not know how to deal with Ulloa when he came on.

If one of those chances had gone in after Vardy had equalised, you never know what could have happened.

There was a 20 minute spell where we absolutely battered them. The fans smelled blood and made a huge racket, and Atletico were on the ropes. If one of those blocks had gone in, I'm sure we would have nicked it.

As it was, they regained some composure, we started running out of time and the pressure fizzled out towards the last 5 minutes.

Amazing night though, and we went down with an almighty scrap.

Great night. Griezmann was sensational and they deserved to go through, but we battered them for so long during the game.

A truly unforgettable night.

We completely turned the game on its head at half time, it was 45 minutes of relentless attack. Chilwell also had a cracking game for us, they didn't know how to handle him down the left!

Yeah, Chilwell was fantastic. I think he will be an important player for us if this system starts working properly and we spend most of our time in the opposition half- he's a totally different player for a team on the front foot compared with a team sitting back under pressure.

There was a point in the second half after Vards goal when Ulloa were on when we piled the ball forward, roughed them up, and got in their faces. And they hated it. Could not handle it. Simeone was going nuts on the side and it was brilliant to see their fancy football come to an end when they had to roll up their sleeves and try and stop wave after wave of ball forward being taken down by Ulloa or Vards and trying to smash the ball home. 30,000 people were willing that ball in and we came so close. Loved this night.

Was gutted we missed out on a semi final and Atletico were slightly better but we went out in a positive way with our heads held high.

Atletico are one of if not the best sides to have never won the Champions league so to give them a run for their money was very credible. Was glad we played them and not Real, Juventus,or Barca.

Falling short of winning it we wanted a decent run without being humiliated (forget Porto!) and it kept our remarkable story intact.

Sevilla will always be stronger in my heart and memory, mainly because I was there - but that night we were genuinely brilliant too. I remember Simeone and some players saying how they were "scared" of us in that match - the pressure we put on one of Europe's elite teams was genuinely incredible. Despite losing I felt we came out of it with our heads held high and could be genuinely proud of what we achieved.

Also, here's five things you may not have remembered:

Atletico Madrid made 65 clearances

Talk about being under pressure! The La Liga giants had to be on their game defensively to leave the King Power Stadium with the result needed to qualify for the semi-final of the Champions League.

The likes of Diego Godin, Stefan Savic and even Jose Gimenez – playing in defensive midfield – may not endure a more tougher game for the remainder of the season as they helped Atletico to record an astonishing 65 clearances.

Leicester City had 22 shots

Credit to the Foxes, heads didn’t fall after Saul’s effort found the back of the net in the first-half. That goal seemed to galvanise the squad and they applied a huge amount of pressure on Diego Simeone’s side in an attempt to keep their dream alive.

22 shots they managed to register at Jan Oblak’s goal. They managed to score from one – through Jamie Vardy – and came extremely close on a couple more occasions. Who knows on another night it could have been so much different.

They really did give it everything to qualify

Leicester-Atletico between 40th & 70th min:

Shots: 8-0
Crosses: 12-0
Chances created: 3-0
Clearances: 1-18

Flying the flag for Premier League teams, Leicester gave it their all in an attempt to ensure English football had one representative in the final four of Europe’s elite club competition.

Between the 40th & 70th minute, they simply battered Atletico. Registering eight shots at goal, attempting 12 crosses and created three chances – all to the visitors’ none – and had the away side on the backfoot as they made 18 clearances.

A clueless display from a tactically inept manager......

Griezmann's movement was sensational.

Happens so many times where I've seen a player live and he's impressed me more than whenever I've seen him on tv.

If the Spaniards hadn’t been awarded an absolutely atrocious penalty for a tackle a yard and more outside the box in the first leg, they’d have been under even more pressure after Vardy equalised in the second.

Who knows how different the end result would have turned out?

But, yeah, amazing match.

Leicester City did itself proud.

My abiding memory is the end of the game and the long, long applause that happened.

It just felt like the end of an era, everyone applauding was doing so with the knowledge that this was it, the conclusion to two years of unbelievable memories. If you're going to go out, it was the perfect way. A full on effort at home in front of the fans. So incredibly proud at the end of that.

Thing us those chances were well before full time. We had twenty minutes left I think.

If they'd gone in the game would've been 50:50 I think. We were knocking on the door with a demolition ball.

One of those nights where I think we put in the absolute maximum amount of effort and quality that we had but it just wasn't enough.

They are a quality side but they had to defend amazingly well. Godin and Savic were incredible.
