We couldn't attract Aranguiz and settled for Inler? We hopefully have a little more pull than a crap mid table club but in this window only. I see your point in less impulse for a name just because; and a little more thought.

Think we tried to get Aranguiz the summer we came up, and Inler was the summer after.

Feels like a pre-divorce scenario.

One of the pair has wanted to leave the other for quite a while, tried a few situations to try and exit, but has acknowledged that it's no quick process and remained patient knowing it'll eventually happen.

Aranguiz was summer of 2015.

No, it was the same window.  Cambiasso came the previous summer.

I remember feeling quite smug as we lifted the title whilst he was crocked for Leverkuesen or whoever it was after he treated the idea of coming to Leicester as if it was like getting herpes or something.

Unlucky Charlie!

I think we have more than promising options. Mahrez's leaving could actually make selection/balance issues easier.

Be careful with that positive thinking  :D

Yeah I remember now, was tempted to try and get in touch to give him some.

Just think if we had got Aringuez there would have been no Kante and no title!

If Cambiasso had stayed, there probably would have been no Kantè signing either.

He would be guaranteed a pay rise & can make a name for himself on the biggest stage.

If you don’t try, you don’t get. To many fans on here so we wouldn’t be able to get someone so quickly on here. 9 times out of 10 you may be right. But what do you lose out of trying?

Did anyone see Stoke signing Shaqiri from at the time Champions league winning Bayern Munich? I guarantee so many said they’ll never get him. But they did.

Well said, I just don't understand how people claim we are small. If you think small you'll always be small.

How did Wolves get Neves to sign for them in the Championship along with a few others.

How do Spurs manage to sign good players on shit money. It's because they get out there and sell the Club and convince players their about to make the breakthrough.

Every player is different and has different values in life. Some like the bright lights some obscurity, peace and tranquility. Some money and others Trophies. You can only fail by not trying. If your not failing occasionally your not trying hard enough.

We need to up our game in this department.

I thought Wolves got Neves because they're owned/run by one of the worlds biggest agents?

Completely agree. Look at Dembele when he left Fulham. Spurs had a contract on the table yet his agent convinced him that even though Celtic were offering less, it would be a better move for him in the long run.

If the £60m does rise to £75m that still won’t be enough for Riyad imo. If coutinho cost £150m then Mahrez is at least £130m.

How can Mahrez be worth half of what Coutinho went for?!? It just doesn’t make sense.

We’re having our pants pulled down here by a club who are going to dominate the league for years to come.

Sort it out Rudders.

Can’t see Man City buying him to be honest. Pep’s been talking about squad harmony. So why would he sign someone who downs tools, lurks at airports and trips over his own bottom lip into a pit of misery he created himself?

Nobody would pay £130m for him.

As already stated, neves went to wolves because his agent runs the club

spurs pay sh1t basic salaries for where they are but the bonus’s are huge. whilst they are finishing top six the players are being very well paid.  And they are in London which helps them to attract/keep players.
