On his day, one of the most skilful players I have seen, and I genuinely wish him well wherever he ends up.

That said, it would be obscene if he were to get a loyalty bonus after the way he pulled the rug out from under our season back in February.

I don't see how one player leaving will mean the club will cease to exist.

Sorry for putting words in your mouth, but I can't stand the type of drama with people mourning the loss of Mahrez as the end of the world, the loss of a loved family member or the start of a downfall or however dramatic you want to paint the picture.

His time with us and the memory thereof should be cherished. The club will do just fine once he's gone and hopefully this time around, the recruitment department have somebody lined up who can do an equally good job on the right than Mahrez did - let's remember that we've had about two years on the lookout, ever since Mahrez handed in his first transfer request. Just because he's one of a kind doesn't mean there aren't other players out there who can do just as fine for us.

Never said it would be the end of the world, I stated the way people have worded their responses is like we will find someone who can replace him and do a similar job easily when you only need to look at pretty much every premier league teams net spend on trying to find wingers even close to Riyad's performances/ability, just look at our spending on strikers the past few seasons how much moneys been wasted we could end up in a similar situation from a wingers perspective as well but this time wont have Riyad to get us out of trouble.

Crazy reading some of the comments about Riyad, literally got one of the best match winners in the league you can literally count on one hand players who can do what he can in this league, that's why Man City want him.

And they're only willing to pay £75m

Nobody said it's going to be easy, but we've had about two years to scout for somebody who can fit right in on the right, so it's best to trust our recruitment department to have made the best choice possible.

No matter the point in time, Mahrez leaving has always been on the cards, so I wish people would stop making such a big fuss about one player going elsewhere.

The club and the collective matter, not simply individuals.

The day you start caring more about players than you do caring about the club will be the day you've turned Algerian.

Nope. Because it's one of the most idiotic questions ever asked.

Why is it?!?

If he’s costing us goals by not tracking, leaving Simpson exposed etc.

I think Simpson has cost us more goals than Riyad and he does not even contribute anything going forward

Not going to disagree with you on that.

Ok. You go back and rewatch every one of Riyad's 158 City appearances, and get back to us when you've counted all the goals you think he's cost us.

And we can definitely count on one hand the spoilt brats. Oh ant the players that refused to train and refused to play.

But hey just white wash over that.

Guardiola seemed pretty fed up due to Sterling continuously missing from 5 yards out lol anyway, drinkwater was never going to play for Chelsea, he wouldn't even start for us now. Considering Chelsea sold Chalobah and loaned out loftus cheek, the drinkwater deal was ridiculous by them (good for us though).

….think they needed to fulfil their quota for naturalised players, see Barkley et al.

Why did they let Chalobah and loftus cheek go? Ake aswell.

Keith Weller for one. By chance, when I was flicking through the 90's copy of The Foxes Alphabet last night, I was amazed to learn that Weller once refused to go out for the second half of a game against Ipswich.

….probably proves the point. Two naturalised players sold and one on loan. Required English replacement players for quota.

Only 75m?

Christ, count yourself lucky Leicester fans. The days where we'd sell crap players for thousands are gone.

Thats an amazing amount of money for us. 60m last season was.

Anyone thought that maybe Mahrez might stay?!?

No?!?

Anyone?!?

...... didn’t think so

Yeah me.

Until at least January.

Man City don't want Mahrez to be their record signing and Leicester are still playing hardball so I'm told. This is why they've come back with all these add ons.

Transfer window closes early this year, he probably will go but if he doesn't... I wouldn't be surprised.

It'll be awful when he leaves as he's such a good footballer. It's actually full on ridiculous to think not only did he play for Leicester, but he played for Leicester city in the championship then won the prem getting PFA player of the year 2 years later. Regardless of what you think of his attitude since the blokes an absolute legend.

He's gonna get the club 75 million and you begrudge the fella for wanting to win trophies. He deserved all the gold medals he's gonna get. Absolute pleasure watching him play.

Lastly, it's gonna be fun to see how people decide they wanna shout down @the fox when they can't just accuse him of being here for mahrez and pretend he isn't a Leicester fan

Good luck Riyad. You'll be missed and it's been an absolute pleasure to watch you grace the pitch.
