Because I don't perceive him as such and the fact he is being exaggerated by the press because he used to be Klopp's assistant at Dortmund. I'm not saying no, I'm just saying that I can think of many more managers I'd rather have instead. He'd be like 9th or 10th choice for me and that's providing he keeps Huddersfield up.

Fair dues.

Myself , I have Been a BVB,for donkey years.They are my 2nd Team.

I rate Klopp,on and off the field. Wagner he did well at BVB for 3 years,at a

the time, where one could say ,it was the Start of complications, but not of his

Making.

If Puel was to go,I wouldnt look on the Negative side, any New manager,

will have to rebuild,So its a question whos up for it.

1st line top managers, wont come,I doubt I would want any from within

that specialist group. They have no experiences how to work any midtable

Team,European included and how to build from that stock of player, that

Would become available.

Of possibles, Howe,Wagner,Dyche and Monk could well fit,and create something.

One thing is for sure, not one on this forum, has any idea of our Clubs needs,

because it will only be a feeling or special thoughts from our management at the time.

I just can't see how Wagner would command respect from the players, he has achieved nothing that they haven't achieved already and I just envision the players seeing it as an uninspiring appointment, like many fans would. I feel like we need to a manager with a proven track record that is based on more than two seasons in management and a reputation to match, and by that I mean someone like Unai Emery who won the Europa League three years on the trot with Sevilla. He's a former Valencia and soon to be PSG manager too. If we're going to be making a financial statement this summer, than we may as well start it off with a bang and appoint an awe inspiring manager to break us into the top 6 next season.

Nice thoughts, great ambitions, but all Fans around the world, with their Clubs, who also fight

Year in year out for positions somewhere between top 14,to those covetted 4-7th placings.

Also Outside the PL,those consistently top 5 Teams, have the finance to riDE out 3-5,

poor transfers, over continual years.Top Teams can still make substanstial financial gains

When releasing, young good players or release those good but only AVG players who arent

Just quite good enough for chasing top 2-4.Over More seasons.

At our level of reality, its just a bit of luck, where your Chosen manager, clicks in,with Fans, with older

Squad and New squad Players, and they find together a workable successful system.

Great potential names, always get mentioned in this forum, but wanting aint getting, and

this is where 99% of all Fans,Fall down...Everybody can shout the odds,in what should

be done ,then come up with possibles, that are beyond the relevant Clubs specifications.

Or not even available.Or opinionated that X,Y,Z  are not good enough.

Puels credentials and CV,wasnt that bad,If we keep him,can he change it around, does he have

a strong enough character,to create that needed extra special,to get support financially to

replace the failing squad. Then if he aint the man, without stating the obvious cliches, but

who really has not only  the potential but the  high capabilities, and character to demand, create and

achieve his ethos must be followed, from all ,through all levels of the Club.

Maybe Puel and Planque, are just waiting for this Moment in time...

From the last 2 Saturdays,I am just going to sit on the fence, because More than anything I

have actually Been ,embarrassed and ashamed of the players, efforts and attitude.

This is the downside of Wagner tonight. They’ll probably lose this, you cannot spend the whole match in your own box.

I’ve seen them play totally differently to this at times this season, moreso at the start, but if we’re going to sack a manager for being negative then there are serious question marks against Wagner.

Interesting comment from Tony Cascarino in the Times that H'field have taken 'parking the bus' to a new level through their exceptional work rate (fine) and sitting extremely deep. He states they are winning no new fans by their negative approach and that H'field can get away with it because they were a newly promoted team. He considers players would not enjoy playing like that.

Although they were promoted last season they were only the 10th highest scorers in the division.

I recognise a manger can only work with what the players he has got, but his preferred style seems to be a long way from his friend Jurgen Klopp.

Is Wagner the German Tony Pulis? Huddersfield are horrific to watch and their lack of goal scoring in the last 2 season is quite something. If Pulis had produced that he would be lamented and kicked from pilar to post.

Apart from Brighton, Huddersfield is probably the most negative team to come to the KP.

I accept the budget he's working with.

You can get away with a Negative style of football, especially if you aren't exactly a big club and are newly promoted.

Pulis' style is proven to work in the prem, almost a guaranteed model to gaining 40 points all reasons considering this is probably what Wagner had planned.

Would Wagner really want to come here after keeping Huddersfield up, you'd expect and, no doubt, he would want to build on that success.

For us to achieve a higher level we need a better manager than him .

I think he is a back up plan if we can’t get Eddie Howe

Negative football probably isn’t Wagner’s chosen style, but it seems a pragmatist. He knows that expansive football would have got Huddersfield relegated. He’s played a negative and compact style, but it has kept them up.

If he came here, I’d like to think he’d be a pragmatist as we have superior players to Huddersfield.

Puel is a pragmatist too, he cuts his cloth accordingly at clubs. However, his natural preference is going for caution over freedom and he's turned a fast and direct squad of players at Leicester in to a pedestrian team who's main interest is keep possession. Any team who sits deep against us has the easiest 90 mins of their season as we're clueless. Wagner bothers me, I just don't think he'd do well here.

I have to say he wouldn’t be my first choice either, as our job is very different the brief he’s had at Huddersfield. So he’d be a risk, but he has a reputation in the game for being intelligent and I’ve read elsewhere his natural way is the Klopp way.

My first choice would be Rafa Benitez, but a punt on Wagner would interest me. I just think Benitez would command the respect of our squad, which even if transitioned out won’t be broken up over night.

Unai Emery? Delusion on Champions League level.
