I just can't see how Wagner would command respect from the players, he has achieved nothing that they haven't achieved already and I just envision the players seeing it as an uninspiring appointment, like many fans would. I feel like we need to a manager with a proven track record that is based on more than two seasons in management and a reputation to match, and by that I mean someone like Unai Emery who won the Europa League three years on the trot with Sevilla. He's a former Valencia and soon to be PSG manager too. If we're going to be making a financial statement this summer, than we may as well start it off with a bang and appoint an awe inspiring manager to break us into the top 6 next season.

Completely agree with this, and the prospect of Unai Emery is mouthwatering, would he not walk into a massive club though? Surely Arsenal must be looking?

He's not even amongst the favourites though. Its more likely to be Mikel Arteta than it is Unai Emery according to the bookies. I wasn't even suggesting Unai Emery (although I'd absolutely love it), just someone 'like' him. Unrelated prediction, but for the record I think Emery will end up at Juventus after Allegri is snatched this summer.

Udders have only 28 goals lowest ever in the Prem -no thankyou very much.

Vardy (18) + Mahrez (11) has more than them alone.

Why do people keep using Ranieri as an example for why we should have champions league class managers??

His career was spiralling down before he came to us, and he's gone to Nantes since!

He did do something semi decent between though eh?  X

he did, but clearly in hindsight didn't suit us in the long term

Yes, I was being slightly tongue in cheek obviously but he'll always be a legend ol' Claudio.  X

Just got this video on my suggested videos on youtube, the clip at 0.53 and 1.00 made me smile.

Edit- You can see the real connection he's made with the club. He almost looks as though he's engrained into it from some of these clips.

If a bigger club from Germany etc are interested in him, no doubt he'd be interested.

He knows the budget where he is currently will be limited, as they've over-achieved and still face a stronger relegation threat next season.

He's got a reported £2.5m bonus for what he's done, but think he probably feels now he's taken them as far as he can and may well want a new project to focus on.

He's only been in management for a handful of years now, and is still learning the ropes - so it'd be a risky appointment for Leicester if he were to ever come.

Where he'll end up, nobody knows.

What we DO know according to latest Kicker reports, is that he will remain a Premier League manager.

Huddersfield? Everton? Leicester?

Have you seen their main strikers? Ultimate threat to every PL defense... Not.

Depoitre (6 goals), Mounie (7 goals) and Quaner (0 lol).

What Wagner has achieved with Huddersfield, despite his team's personnel and financial limitations, is rather remarkable.

I couldn't have named any of them TBH and I can see he was playing to survive but I'm hoping we have moved past that level now with players and management

he wouldn't play that way with out players, just like Dyche wouldn't have us playing like Burnley do

People said we wouldn't have a season like Southampton did under puel if he came here because our attack was so superior...
