We won't be spending £15m on a centre half now we have Maguire and Evans.

In all fairness, we haven't got a great deal of depth behind Evans and Maguire. I wouldn't want either Morgan or Benalouane starting week in week out.

A very questionable league, though it must be said that Vidic came from the Russian league too, and he wasn't too shabby. Think there are better options but looks like a player that could probably do well in our league. Tall, strong and fast, good anticipation.

And Ivanovic, and Skrtel.

I really like the look of him, a lot quicker and more mobile than I imagined a guy so tall to be. Good age and decent price, too.

This is the bloke whose sons we need to target for a ball-playing defender....a wonderful footballer.

Image result for "Aleksandr Chivadze"

If that is not the wild eyed stare of a serial axe murderer then I don't know what is.

If Charles Manson were a footballer......

With him being Georgian, will there be any work permit issues? If he isn’t a regular for us he could face issues getting it renewed.. and effect our chances of selling him so his would be a strange one - of not see why we’d sign with as back up  with  that in mind...

Judging by the video, 0 goals, 0 assits, 0 headers, 75 fouls and 125 sliding tackles per game.

We need another CB for me. We've lost Huth and Dragovic on what we had last season. (Not that Huth was available, but we didn't plan for that).

The question is though..

Can he clothes line people like Wasl?

Work permit is a result of international appearances, not how many appearances he makes for us

The following rules apply regarding applications for a work permit in regards to international appearances

1-10 Ranking National Team = 30% of international matches in 2 years prior to application for work permit

Ranks 11-20 = 45% of matches in previous 2 years

Ranks 21-30 = 60% of matches in previous 2 years

Ranks 31-50 = 75% of matches in previous 2 years

If they do not qualify under these rules, such as Kvirkvelia wouldn't due to Georgia currently being ranked 96, it would go through an appeals process, where the player needs to score 4 points or more from the available criteria:

- Transfer fee is above the 75th percentile of all Prem transfers in previous 2 windows = 3 points

- Transfer fee is between the 50th and the 75th percentile of all Prem transfers in previous 2 windows = 2 points

- Players wages are above the 75th percentile of the top 30 earners at each Prem Club during previous transfer window = 3 points

- Players wages are between the 50th and the 75th percentile of the top 30 earners at each Prem Club during previous transfer window = 2 points

- Player currently plays in one of the TOP 6 LEAGUES and has played in at least 30% of available minutes in League Matches = 1 point

- Players current club has played in group stages of a continental competition within the last 12 months and the player played in at least 30% of these available minutes = 1 point

Im not too sure if Russia League is classed as a top league, however he would at least get 1 point for the continental competition appearances, so would basically need to make sure it would be a pretty good transfer fee and he would be on some decent wages to get to the 4 points

However even if he acquires the 4 points, the selection panel could still turn down the application, then the club would have to present a case as to why they think he would be a good player to bring to the league

No problem. Claim Asylum from Aunty Merkel. Then get over to England sharpish and this will get around all visa issues.

But would he play for their national team if he isn’t playing for us?

When you look at the quality of the available centre backs for them, I feel like him not playing for us wouldn't make much difference, would be too big a player for them to leave out

I’ve pictured him more in high heels, cavorting lady boyesque with Ronaldo. A sort of mini mini me.

I see what you mean.

He wasn't a hatchet-man defender, though. More of a classy, cultured, ball-playing sweeper who made forward runs in possession, a real novelty back then.

A key figure for Dinamo Tbilisi and the USSR when both were decent teams at European level in the 80s,

All I can pick up is that he’s a big fecker who likes slide tackles and plays in a crap league as none of the links seem to work, £15 million seems a bargain though... :claude:
