Got to be honest and say from few clips I saw, he looks a bit clumsy and unlikely to be a ball playing CB... BUT I fully accept I could be completely wrong in assuming that.

I hope your wrong, last thing we need is a direct replacement for Morgan.

New starting RB, new starting CB and not a squad CB that looks capable of pushing those staring.  So far so good, our recruitment looks really solid and actually well planned.  Hopefully we work through midfield now but signs are hopeful so far.

You mean our club captain who won the league? Too many writing Wes off as he will change his game and should be respected for all he has done.

Ack to topic Huth was hardly a footballing god but boy was he a fantastic defender.....not every player can be a total footballer and you need a mixture to make an effective team.

hopefully this lad has power and strength to dominate allowing the footballer in a Maguire or Evans to play....

@tsintskaro, what's your assessment of Kvirkvelia based on last season?

I remember from the old 2017 thread you saying that it didn't feel right for him to switch to a Premier League club and that there were better Russian Premier League centre-backs available.

Based on his stats, has Kvirkvelia gotten any better in the space of one season?

What are his qualities again? From the highlights that I've seen, he loves a sliding tackle and is surprisingly fast for a guy of his size.

And what's the feedback from the player himself? Has he said anything about the Premier League rumours?

Again, I'm not sure whether he'd want to come here and play third or fourth fiddle, behind Maguire, Evans, and potentially Morgan and/or Benalouane (if the latter stays).

Kvirkvelia would want to play regularly, not the least because of his chances with the national team.

I'm also unsure about the transfer fee and have my reservations about another Russian Premier League signing - simply based on the Ahmed Musa experience.

I did not say there are better centre backs in Russian league,i meant that PL clubs not often go for players from Russia and i was  kind of confused. He is one of the best centre backs in russia to be honest

Yes,he loves tackles. He is strong, tall and pretty. He is quite confident - future team captain.Georgian footballers have not great work ethic mostly, but he is not one of that kind.

I am pretty sure he is better then Huth and Morgan even when they were in their prime form

as i said,he was on TV and when asked about rumor - he said hes agent was having talks with club.also he was asked abouT PL and he said even tho Leicester is not in champions league and lokomotiv  is,premier league is like champions league and he surely prefers playing there

Well yes he has in mind to be starter and i think he deserves it.yes, transfer fee may be debatable but its PL team so russian side will try to get best from it

I prefer my defenders to be ugly.

Benny replacement

I think thats true, but there seems to be rumours about our style shifting to a back three, with Evans and Maguire joining Solo, and with Wes possibly leaving at the end of his contract, and Huth gone, next season we wont actually have too many cbs

Have some respect.

No, Wes is no longer any use to us, as we’d have no longer been any use to him, should a bigger club have came in for him during his prime. It’s only business :)

Can see us going three at the back with three very good centre-halves and two fullbacks that are better at attacking than defending.

This guy has "fans favourite" written all over him. Actually think he could be a real success in the premier league as he loves a sliding tackle (and seems very good at them), is tall and physical. Getting the crowd going is very important to get the attacking momentum going and is a reason we love Vardy so much. Can picture him putting in a cruncher, playing it to Maguire who skips past two players playing out of the back and playing it into Vardy to send the King Power faithful into raptures! This guy seems to put himself on the line for everything, which as fans we adore.

I suppose not getting Dragovic but getting two good CB's for the same price or less is pretty good business.
