I did not say there are better centre backs in Russian league,i meant that PL clubs not often go for players from Russia and i was  kind of confused. He is one of the best centre backs in russia to be honest

Yes,he loves tackles. He is strong, tall and pretty. He is quite confident - future team captain.Georgian footballers have not great work ethic mostly, but he is not one of that kind.

I am pretty sure he is better then Huth and Morgan even when they were in their prime form

as i said,he was on TV and when asked about rumor - he said hes agent was having talks with club.also he was asked abouT PL and he said even tho Leicester is not in champions league and lokomotiv  is,premier league is like champions league and he surely prefers playing there

Well yes he has in mind to be starter and i think he deserves it.yes, transfer fee may be debatable but its PL team so russian side will try to get best from it

I have never seen the guy play but i highly doubt he's better than Huth in his prime. If he was, he'd have been playing in a much better league than Russia before now.

I mean Huth was bench player until he went to Stoke. That time he was same age Kvirkvelia is now and Kvirkvelia will be PL player most likely

so,not a solid argument

@tsintskaro Which players are considered to be the best in the Russian league and in general how do you think those players would do in other leagues?

In the past we've seen players like Willian, Ivanovic and Matic do well, but also seen players like Musa and Niasse look terrible.

I am not huge fan of Russian league,i check it cause of georgian footballers

but i can tell that its not like french league, where u can find a lot new talents

it is cheap MLS or Chinese league, where 30+ footballers and flops go,chill and make more money, its not huge prospect for young players

but it is fine for Post soviet countries footballers

surely there are good footballers - Promes in spartak, that Paredes guy from Roma.

but as i said,it is not the league u want  footballers to buy from

So after Maddison, £50m spent this summer already. Think someone on here said 50m was our summer budget and any more would have to come through sales. Plus a possible FFP wages issue.. The Kvirkvelia deal can't be that close, if we need to sell before buying any more?

This must be our plan B to Dragovic not signing. Shame, would've preferred Drago but he wants to play regularly so can't blame him.

£20 millions for a Georgian defender from the Russian league. Errrrrr that sounds dubious business to me.

It's a concern for sure and can't help think a 3rd choice of Hegazi for few million would have been smarter business.

This guy could be the real deal though and I feel more confident with Puel here, as I do believe that ONE of his qualities is to spot a decent player.

On a side note, I am enjoying how we are doing our business so far this window. Seems like we are set on getting our targets in early and then hopefully we can turn all our focus to getting rid of a load
