Wouldn't mind us signing that Laxalt for lb actually

Ricardo hasn't impressed me too much but it's the first game of this World Cup for him so not judging him on this alone.

Thought Silva was decent as usual.

Cedric Soares was picked ahead of him for the first 3 matches, I think that's telling. He may be good, but he is no world beater.

Ashley Young was picked ahead of rose, I wouldn't say young is better Than rose.

Ricardo looked decent going forward but made mistakes for both goals. That said for the second goal the real mistake was the CB not being able to clear his lines effectively which allowed Uruguay to play in Cavani. Brilliant finish mind.

I think it will be interesting with Ricardo in the side. I expect him to contribute a lot going forwards but think we will be weaker at the back. He's a small guy for what is a very physical league.

Simpson in!

I think he grew into the game tbh was there original RB injured? Seems a bit unfair to start him on for the first time in a game like that. He looked nervous

Early days and one match but ... Peirerra's first 4 crosses were all duds, the 5th went to the back post with no one there, a bit hit and hope. Two attempt tackles, both late, both fouls given against him. Cavanis 2nd goal he was stood with his finger up his arse out of position, didn't have a clue Cavani was there! On looking at one match he looks like another Portuguese dud, he'll struggle with the pace and picking up runners just like Silva. He often looked out of position and a bit mesmerised rather like a converted winger that didn't make the grade.  Talking of which, Silva has just been a bit meh for me, i just cant see what others are seeing sorry. Looks a lightweight water carrier at best in that role and not much if at all better than King who could at least be a goal threat at times. He looks technically neat and tidy but was found out with the pace and physicality of the Premiership for me.

Perriera is young however and it would appear Puel sees something in his as a coach so that's good enough for me. He's like a Chilwell on the right, has lots to learn.

Will be interesting to see what Puel's plan is for Amartey.

Think he still has potential, but Simpson's experiences pushes him out of the pecking order.

When was the last game he played? He didn't look match fit to me. Let's see how he does here before we're all calling for Weale back like we did with the last Portuguese Ricardo

72 minutes in a friendly against Tunisia on 28th May

Thought Silva was decent and very busy on and off the ball. He should do well for us next season. He still might be best in a midfield 3 though.

Periera was OK. He looked comfortable on the ball but did look a bit suspect in defence and didn't contribute much in attack. I would put it down to some nerves perhaps and also being a very tough game against an amazing attacking force of Suarez and Cavani, plus a very difficult defence to break down.

All in all, not too shabby and hopefully now they can get decent rest time before they join up with us in Pre-Season and can both make a real impact next season.

On a side note, how amazing is it that we can watch World Cups with Leicester having numerous players competing at the highest level. How far we have come

I can see amartey being pursued by Puel, Simpson will leave (I think Cardiff wanted him?)

That's more than a month and it wasn't competitive, was probably a while before that too.

He obviously needs to play well for us but fans jumping on a players back before they've even turned out for us would be a new low.
