Or alternatively, an opinion formed from one game isn't an opinion worth Jack

Not an opinion just a clear observation of his performance tonight was that he was terrible.

I haven't stated "He's gonna be shit, what a waste of money, sell him" have I.

No you didn't and for what it's worth, the majority of initial media reports agree with your observations too, as do they also comment that Silva was poor also. One commented "On this showing Premier League wingers will have fun down Leicester’s right next season.”

Blue tinted glasses off, in this one off showing I have to agree with both yours and the media's observations. Early days though and I would like to think Puel can educate and whip him into shape. Like Maddison, an adjustment period and a bit of patience will be required.

I agree the lads not had the best of games tonight but people questioning us signing him is ridiculous. Firstly, his international competitive debut at a world cup, can't blame him for being nervy. Also if you think this guy will be better at defending than Simpson you're probably wrong. Simpson will still be better defensively (don't go on about the mistakes Simpson has made, all defenders make errors) we've bought him for his attacking ability. I can see us even playing both Simpson and Ricardo against the big boys with Ricardo further up the pitch. Let's just thank god that the managers don't write players off as quick as FT members do as if they did we'd still have Nugent up front.

The lad has been up against and caught out by Cavani and Suarez! I think he's joined a long list of people who have found it difficult against them to.

They would walk into most PL club's starting 11's and be in the top 10 players in the league.

Put in to context Rose was given a the run around by bloody Januzaj!

At least give the guy a season before writing him off!

the one thing i was hoping for was a fullback who marked up on his winger, unlike simpson who gives him miles of room to get crosses in, but there was ricardo  do the same thing giving his winger miles of room. gee we can pick em.

I'm amazed people are as concerned as they are. He wasn't exactly a world beater but he looks significantly more talented than Simpson does. I like the positions he gets into. Do think he might get caught out defensively occasionally though.

I'm more worried by Silvas continued lack of form than by 1 avg game by Pereira, Patience with Silva is starting to wear thin.

This is Trump like rhetoric. He wasn't terrible. He also wasn't sensational. These aren't the only two options.

His shortcomings tonight amount to a couple of wayward crosses, and a couple of clumsy challenges. I honestly don't think anyone who isn't clairvoyant would blame him for the goals-Uruguay moved the ball beautifully from flank to flank both times, and for the first at least you have to blame the centre back for not being on Cavani. The second goal he could have been tighter, but he covered the percentages in a way that I think most good players would, and Cavani hit an exceptional shot. He's given me no cause for concern.

Fake news.

(For what it's worth I agree with you entirely, I cannot stand the inability of most people to see the greys and the current fashion to talk in absolute extremes).  X

This forum is weird at times.

It's a place for opinions and thought, it's not the politburo in Soviet Russia where we all have stick to "everything is great" whatever happens.

All people are saying is he looked crap in one match, which he did. No one at all has written him off for next season.

I think you need to read a little more carefully - some people were incredibly quick to judge.

It must be said, if Pereira is terrible, what does that make Ronaldo? Because he was absolutely dogshit last night lol. By the same logic, is it time for him to be packed off to Bondi Beach Reserves as he's clearly no longer up to it?

And I didn't see people jumping on Maguire when he had a wobbly first game against Tunisia...

I didn’t think Ricardo was very good last night but I’m not to judge him on one performance. He’s probably lacking sharpness having played little since the end of the season. Did like his intent to get forward but end product was shit and often turned backwards. Amazing he managed to not get a yellow card.

If he's not better defensivly than Simpson then we are in trouble. lol

Unimpressive display from both of them yesterday. But 1 knockout game against Uruguay is not a guideline for a premier league season.

Have we been linked with that loser Ronaldo. Our fans will be up in arms clearly the worst striker at the tournament. Let’s keep Musa instead ?
