I think he got exposed last night a touch even though I think it is probably more rust than anything, but I think what he offers going forward, combined with the suspected 3 at the back in Maguire, Evans and ANnother, as well as a similar style in Chilwell on the other side will cause us to be a lot more threatening going forward, and give space for our midfield to operate. I think it could be exciting.

Looks like a natural wing back. I think the lack of transfer links for a natural winger would suggest we may be going 3 at the back next season.

Didn't look that natural to me, just made simple 3yds passes whilst hanging around further up the pitch (at times I felt his team mates would only pass to him as a last resort). Hardly a speed merchant either was he and slow to get back, not that tackling appeared his forte either. Had a gait like a bemused duck that had cacked itself. Clearly worth 20m to another Portuguese club.

No mate but players have been known to come on here and they do no what a percentage of our fans are like with negativity.

Nice one

If they did come on here they would be idiots, knowing full well they’d be viewing some negative postings.

Nothing to gain for a player coming on to a Forum.

Or are you suggesting we should only write Ra ra positive and fake opinions, just in case a poor little footballer wants some reassurance?

Didn't think either of them were that bad. Neither were particularly good either mind.

Ricardo is certainly more comfortable on the ball than any Leicester right back I can remember. Based purely on his WC performances, the jury is still out on whether he can defend well or not.

Looking forward to seeing him in a city shirt and getting a good run of games under his belt.

Perreira was thrown to the lions a little wasn't he?

I actually thought he did ok. He clearly looked nervous but a tournament debut against Suarez, Cavani and the rest is a bit of a baptism of fire. He's certainly forward thinking and we've been crying out for that. Positioning could improve but that's what Claude and the coaching staff are there for isn't it?

I thought Silva played well personally. If you can live in that company, then a trip to Molineux shouldn't hold any fears for you.

World Cup debut, thrown in at the deep end and told to cope with Suarez and Cavani.

Yeah, he’s shit.

He's supposedly come from a high profile league winning Champions League regulars team with a relatively high price tag, hardly an inexperienced young lad stepping up from the u23s. He was hardly asked to cope with Suarez and Cavani on his own was he, he was one cog of a defence, defending hardly being his forte on last night's performance.

Despairing at some of us yet again writing off a new player over the one game they played against one of the most efficient teams in the world, when they've not played a full competitive game in almost 2 full months.

Depressing isn't it...

Dragovic got slaughtered by Neymar in a similar position in a friendly a few weeks ago. But people are still keen on him? It's always the player you don't have that looks better.

I liked what I saw yesterday, and Pereira and Silva linked up well with each other.

Whoscored rated Pereira poorly, but attributed the 'error leading to goal' to Pepe, for what it's worth.

I thought Silva looked sharp. Passed the ball well and marshalled the midfield.

I really hope Ndidi sits like Carvalho did and protects the back four. This will give Silva, our wing backs and other attackers more freedom to go forward. It’s great he runs all over the place and wins the ball back, but if we are to get the best out of Silva and our wingbacks, Ndidi needs to sit and mop up any counters.

He will smash the league and go somewhere else after one season, with all the current doubters moaning about him not being loyal.

Thought he did alright.

I'm amazed people are as concerned as they are. He wasn't exactly a world beater

That's the issue though, people believed their own hype and thought he was up there with the best in the world.

It’s been one ****ing game haha our fans man I despair. Wouldn’t mind seeing D Simpson in this game just to see how many goals he scores and how many last ditch tackles he makes. I’ll judge the guy after 20 games for us.

Don't talk sense mate, you know the opinionated, negative knee jerk reactionaries  are always right!

It is not about hype or anything like that, we are expecting an upgrade on Simpson but the first we have seen of him since we have signed him was underwhelming and considering our recent history of signings from the continent peeps are a little bit worried he may turn out to be another player that is no better than we already have.

This new season could be the start of a new era or a bit of a disaster, only time will tell.

I think Ndidi is better with a bit more free licence a bit like Kante in a way. To shackle him to the Carvalho role would dumb him down too much for me and we perhaps wouldn't get the best out of him. It would be too much of a sacrifice just to try and shoe horn Silva in. Personally I would on paper have Ndidi, Maddison, James and Iborra in that order before considering Silva unless with a preseason he improves very quickly, as with the exception of perhaps Arsenal,  last year he wasn't up with the pace and physicality of the Premiership.

I get what you’re saying, but we will need someone to sit and shield the defence, if we’re playing with attacking full backs. Otherwise we will be countered on too easily. The best options are Ndidi or Choudhury, as Iborra is too slow covering ground and Silva/James aren’t DM’s.

Come to think of it, Choudhury seems the most natural player for that role as he likes to sit deep, but I cant see both him and Ndidi starting.

Also Maddison is a Number 10 i think, so its doubtful he will be considered at CM.

At risk of piddling people off I’m still yet to be particularly impressed with Silva. He’s not a bad player of course but I expected him to be really good.

Keeps it ticking over excellently well, but he's definitely much more of a box to box type rather than a creative player. Maddison hopefully will add something entirely new. Could work very well together.

lol at people writing him off already.

forget about all of his previous club's fans crying their eyes out about losing him and people in disbelief that he's coming to Leicester.

he's had a single mediocre game, his first game, in the world cup, in a team full of players he doesn't play with against ****ing Uruguay.

get in the bin you lot - honestly, don't bother turning up to the ground with that attitude for the first game of the season.

****ing jokers.

Nothing to worry about. Neither goal would have been scored if he had been playing for us.

Chilwell would have used his salmon leap to get a head on the cross, and Kasper has better point blank reactions than the wolves keeper.

For the second, neither Maguire or Evans would have made a pigs ear of the defensive header.
