We are rather overstocked with players like Mendy, King, Ulloa, Slimani, Musa etc at present.

On the other hand Nacho was developing a decent partnership with Vardy at the tail end of last season, Hamza looks a capable back up defensive midfielder and in Albrighton, Gray, Diabate and Chilwell we have reasonable wingers.

The World Cup and early closure of the transfer window combined with tighter financial rules have constrained other teams too.

we need a left back tho in my opinion as you said chilwell is a winger, he shouldnt be played at left back

You might not rate him as a left back but Benny chilwell doesn’t stand out as a winger. IMO he’s better running from deep in a fullback or wingback role.

I agree that we need to see some more activity on the transfer front, but that mainly with regards to "outs".

One or two more wingers, and we're pretty much set for the season.

What I don't get is this constant desire for new signing just for the sake of it - fans clinging on potential transfer news like drug addicts on methadone.

i think he would be better if we played at 3 at back, then he wouldn't have as much as a responsibility defensively yet still run from deep

I wouldn’t say it was lacklustre. We seem to have lost our way. I wish we were all at least aware of what the outline plan was!

We seem to be really struggling to get rid of Benalouane, Ulloa (baffles me how we’ve offered him a new contract last year ?), Elder and at least one of centre midfielders.

Surely we can get Kapustka and Thomas out on loan too.

Benalouane is the ideal backup centre back to have. He knows he's never going to be first choice, so he's not going to be a trouble maker,  but always seems fit and ready if he needs to replace someone. He's big and strong and always gives his best. Okay, he's not the most talented player in the world, but we're never going to sign a top defender for back up, I can't see what peoples problem with him is.

Because he is absolutely rubbish and probably on about £40,000 a week as a back up who will never play.

He's a central midfielder?

Or are we just playing the game where everytime a Premier League side signs a decent player we go RUDKIN FFS SORT IT OUT

He can play a number of roles. Great young player. Can completely understand why we haven't signed him if wages are sky high but would have been a great addition

Yet we're going all in on Alcacer who's a striker and we already have 7 of them, yet only play 1 through the middle. Meyer can play anywhere in midfield and would easily be more suited to playing behind Vardy than Alcacer. Aaaah well, trying not to be livid about this as he is mustard.

Who knows what we are doing with Alcacer.

We spent £24m on Maddison and we are gonna rotate him with this guy on £120k pw?

Yeah he's a decent player but we can't sign them all.

We're still paying the price for that absolute monstrosity of a window in 2016. We're paying a good number of players who won't get near the first team unless we have injuries £50k a week- even with the ridiculous money coming in from the TV deal, that isn't sustainable.

We need to bin a couple off, even if it's for a low fee, and get a winger in- it's essential if we want to finish in the top half.

We’ve had an ok window (maybe good) and if we can move some players on then we can buy a couple more. Problem is that the window shuts in Europe after ours so we may have spaces post season start and be unable to fill them !

This no doubt every other club was saying the same when signed Silva a year ago or when we signed Maddison recently. People should appreciate the talent we currently have at the club.

Completely understand that we can't sign every decent player and a lot of great players won't want to come to us, which is fine. I think an element of frustration with a player like meyer is we have got hundreds of thousands of pounds currently sitting either on the bench or will not make the squad next season which would be better utilised with a great player like him that can play cm/atm and the fact that palace are in for him shows he would probably consider mid table prem teams which would include us. It's our fault with handing out big contracts to players which we now cannot shift. Got no issue with our business apart from that as made 3 great signings and signings under macia/rudkin have been very good.

Max Meyer is mustard?

Once upon a time, maybe. But his head is bigger than Shalke's stadium.

He's not had a decent season since 2015.

So what's the problem then. Don't tell me, you'd like to see a rotation policy at centre back and his wages are coming out of your back pocket.

The four we've signed are good solid signings, in positions where we were crying out for cover/improvement,  and maybe we're going to adapt to a different style but..........

We all saw how dull and turgid it was in the latter half of last season and we've now sold our most creative player, who weighed in with more than his fair share of goals and assists.

For whatever reasons we don't seriously seem to be looking at replacing him and that's worrying me.
