Is it disrespectful to want an under par player out of the team?  Last season was a season too far and I’m afraid any sign of him starting regularly this season will spell trouble

He hasn't looked any worse than Evans so far, they were both slow and caught out by Notts Counties 1st goal.

 

Hope they both improve especially Evans who's not looked too impressive.

I'm not sure about the things you are saying. I am however unhappy that we have sold Mahrez for 60 million and not reinvested it in a replacement for him, YET. Don't agree with you calling for big names though, they aren't necessary. Give me a 20 million Mahrez replacement I've never heard of from some obscure European club any day. It's the Leicester way!

He's out the team, he's 3rd choice. So yes to continue moaning and bitching about a club legend who's a fine 3rd choice center back just to fuel your own depressive personality is a bit disrespectful in my opinion.

I do not feel it is lackluster.   We need to bin Slimani and Musa and try to replace with a younger striker that is a given.     Give Mendy a chance, Leo could be an alternative substitute option for plan B.  We have cover everywhere else, 'if 'we keep and pair Maguire with Evans together.  If on the other hand we sell Maguire, and retain Wes and Evans as our CB pairing, then we are doomed and will be Cannon Fodder.

I don't know for certain what the team will be but quotes from Wes Morgan on the Johnny Evans signing suggest he appreciates he's going to be a squad player this season. “Competition is always healthy. There are injuries and suspensions, so it is always good to have a good squad in case of any scenario that may happen." He also said he's not as young as vibrant as he used to be.

 

and do you honestly think that if the club sell Maguire (and it's still a big if) they won't bring in a quality replacement? You think the club will want to start the season with a 34 year old and bennolune as 2 of their 3 center backs of course they will replace him of he's sold its common sense to presume otherwise is stupidity in my opinion.

I think that's unfair. The first half of the window was absolutely fantastic but since Mahrez has gone and we signed Maddison we haven't done anything.

Eh, only lost the player who's been gone mentally for at least 6 months anyway, bought in the right back we've been asking for for 2 years and a young #10 with bounds of potential, again a position people have wanted change in with Okazaki. Puels had a steady, clever window filling in holes his predecessors have ignored. Can't complain.

Yes, this transfer window started off brightly and then appears to be fizzling out, but for anyone complaining about a lack of signings or even links, just click the 2 arrows at the bottom of the transfers thread list.

4 years ago we were linked with Cameron Stewart,  Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Niklas Bendtner.

Things could always be worse.

We may not have signed loads but what’s to say people that have been on loan won’t come back and be given a chance? Musa, Kaputska, Mendy. Then factor in the 3 or 4 under 23s with the first team at the minute, who knows one of them may step up and be like ‘a new signing’. 

 

I have said in another thread I would like another centre back signing regardless of Maguire situation unless there is a u23 like Knight, Johnson or Hughes ready to step up?

Its been the most sensible transfer window for us since the signing of Kante. Players with some track record wanted by big clubs.

We are rather overstocked with players like Mendy, King, Ulloa, Slimani, Musa etc at present. 

 

On the other hand Nacho was developing a decent partnership with Vardy at the tail end of last season, Hamza looks a capable back up defensive midfielder and in Albrighton, Gray, Diabate and Chilwell we have reasonable wingers. 

 

The World Cup and early closure of the transfer window combined with tighter financial rules have constrained other teams too.
