We’re in trouble with Mahrez.

Where the hell are we going to get our goals from?

Everybody knew this but we're never going to get a replacement for him because he's that good. He contributed so much to our assists and goals. It'll be interesting to see how Vardy gets on without him. There's so much pressure on Maddison because we ain't go no other creativity.

It does concern me just a little that, maddisson aside, king appears to be our best midfielder.

Edit: tbf I forgot all about ndidi

Said earlier in the summer, I'd happily sell the lot (other than N'didi). Not convinced with our options in their at all yet. Time for Iborra and Silva to step it up though now they should be settled.

I'm not saying it did or does.

But all I do know is that we're 13 days away from playing Man United with a half fit Albrighton and Demarai Gray while we've got 60m quid in the kitty.

It needs to get spent and it needs to happen quickly.

we bought Ulloa....

Udinese are a team I’d expect us to finish above in a league. That’s if I’m allowed expectations?

These players have played this system and practice it every day in training so personally I think that’s a load of “bull crap”. They should be able to play in it by now. After all, they are professional footballers.

We haven't played with this 4-2-3-1 system since Mahrez left.

Lots of fringe players involved, many of which who will not feature for us at all (or very little).

Players returning from the World Cup in their first pre-season friendly.

Players returning from injury.

How is it not a fitness drill when probably 1 of the starting 11 will start our first game and three players went off after 30 minutes?  Today has been very poor but I am not worried in the slightest?

If it's a fitness drill then we ought to be giving as many minutes as possible to the 11 that will start in a fortnight.

Fitness is a big factor in these games but so is tactics, shape, understanding of Puels philosphy, becoming a more gelled unit.... etc.

If we just wanted fitness then we wouldn't be here. He'd have the lads running their arses off in training.

You can't put 11 players on a pitch who have probably never played together and expect great performances. You see it time after time when we do it in cup games and struggle. It's just as much about relationships and understanding what your team mates are going to do.

This is spot on. Not only the goals but often when we were under pressure we could give him the ball and he could carry it 40 yards forward going past high quality players. No one else can do that on a regular basis.

His loss is going to be massive. People need to really temper expectations for this season.

Let's hope Mendy continues his good pre-season form. Like getting a free player if he comes back and can compete for a spot in the first XI.

Biggest change needed is one in the dugout.

Weird how nobody criticises the owners / board who constantly sack managers they appoint though.

I think they are tempered as people keep saying we're going to get relegated.

Not sure why the wages would be an issue. We've just sold our second highest earner and got 60m quid for him.

We've got Mendy, King, Ulloa, Musa and Slimani back on full wages now.
