When did we last have such a dire pre season?

When we won the league.

I think they're basing it on the fact that they genuinely think we're only playing these games for fitness.

If it's just fitness they can go for a jog. Surely we're practising Puel's world beating tactics as well?

It always ends up being shit but Diabate is the only one that tries to do anything.

He's certainly made an effort.

The others have hardly spent any time at all on their hair

Got hammered for suggesting Diabete should go on loan. Ive seen nothing to suggest hes capable of playing in the premier league yet.... in fact ive seen a lot more from harvey barnes (not in a leicester shirt though).

Not based on pre season alone but i fear we are in for a miserable season.

Tell me when I said they haven’t been? But anyway, you continue to ignore a point when you’ve got nothing to answer too by trying to deflect it to something else. They haven’t been doing enough. It’s poor.

Lots of waffling, Bert.

Again, all down to personal expectations. We could come back and win this 3-2 - would you still moan about a pre-season performance?

We've started this match with a makeshift centre-back, a makeshift right-back, a centre-back pretty much past it, a left-back nearing his pro career, a World Cup returnee, Albrighton who has just returned from his injury spell and an underperforming Diabaté.

If you were expecting this lot to click for the full duration of this match, again - good luck with that.

Valencia and Lille still coming up and likely more first-teamers to be involved as we approach the Premier League season opener... So, chill out.

It's only a preseason friendly and most of our best players aren't playing, so we should keep that in context when commenting on the match.

That said, it's like last season's performances from March-May deja vu with lots of meaningless possession and a complete inability to fashion any moments of quality to look like scoring. What is a little concerning is there doesn't really appear to be a cohesive gameplan; players aren't in the right positions for when we get on the ball to make a goal attempt and there's no sign of passing triangles or trying to isolate spaces for certain players which are normally the things you see teams try in preseason games.

There was a shot where it cut to Puel and he looked quite frustrated and annoyed. Which is a bit worrying because it's his job to stamp his style and tactics on our side.

To be honest until I see a team with players like Kasper, Maguire, Ndidi, Madisson, Vardy and Ricardo all in the starting 11 it's hard to make a judgement on what we see. Most of the players out there in that half are ones that are on the fringes of the first eleven at best. As many have said, just shows how much deadwood we have in the squad.

Cannot possibly go into this season with Diabate 1st choice RW, Morgan 3rd choice CB and Maddison our only creative player. 1 or 2 Injuries and we'll be in for a relegation battle.

We look really poor without madders.

We move the ball to slowly. Almost pedestrian in our play. We don't break lines. We pass from side to side then aim at the 1 man in the box and lose the ball.

Defensively we look a shambles. Really hope that kasper, Evans and Harry can make that issue go away.

And that going forward madders to Vardy becomes the new mahrez to Vardy as we are gonna need it

When we won the league.

Did we? We had plenty of goals in us that summer- I remember seeing us come from 2-0 down to beat Birmingham.

We look so pedestrian going forward at the minute- so much rests on Maddison's shoulders as it stands.

Biggest surprise for me is that we are owned by apparent genius marketers.... and during the half time break we just see a screen and listen to elevator music.

Why not just roll the LCFC shop products on screen... missed opportunity Top, give me a shout if youd like help with your marketing :)

Love the people saying you can't take anything from pre-season games. A player who's got the touch of a rapist in a friendly isn't suddenly going to turn into Dennis Bergkamp in a league game. You can take loads away from friendlies.

have you forgot about last season? he's shit since he's been here,a lucky few results strung together and then total shit since January.

No.

But he was trying to get someone else's squad - a squad that has been playing direct and counter attack for the last two/three years - to actually play football.

Every new manager deserves a summer and time to get his players in for the way he wants to play.

If you want to sack him then okay, it's your opinion, but keep sacking managers and we'll eventually go down.

You’re right I think I was a bit over the top in my view point and it’s not that I think Chilwell isn’t good enough I just think he isn’t ready to be starting week in week out yet and Fuchs is better at the moment

Fair enough, I do not necessarily disagree, Fuchs has been one of my favourite players over the last few years.  I do think maybe we just throw Chilly in as his projection is upwards rather than downwards but happy enough with them rotating to be honest.

I'd say the most important thing about pre-season at this stage is looking like the players we have are in any sort of position to be playing Premier League football in 13 days.

Does it look like any player we have could play a PL match in 2 weeks to their full ability? Not to me it doesn't.

Pretty much all Premier League teams are facing the same issue due to the World Cup and its implications on the squad, plus the altered transfer window period this summer.

Stop looking at the tree, look at the forest instead.

Malcolm was a waste of time. He's one of the best young wingers in the world. We'd have had absolutely no chance with him so no idea what our scouting department is smoking. Same goes for Bailly if rumours are to be believed.

Jahansbakh or whatever his name is went to Brighton for pittance. If we wanted him then we should have paid the money.

If that's "out there" then **** sake we're in a right mess.

So you moan about us not being "out there" then you moan about us actually being out there. We did pay the money for Jahansbakh, we blew them out of the water financially, but he's had a relationship with them for three years and chose to go there.

You saying we have no desire to buy someone, looks like total bollocks really if these people are telling the truth. Quite clearly our plans have gone tits up, and that could be no fault of ours as well. Whatever went wrong has left scrabbling to get someone in. But saying there is no desire to replace him just seems like hyperbole.

We can only comment on what we've seen and this performance has not been good enough. Not sure what part of that you struggle to comprehend.
