If there not up to match fitness then why take the risk, on the other hand Puel is giving something for Jose to think about. Win win

I think Maguire will start and Vardy will play some part. Puel using mind games.

Maguire will start with Wes in my opinion v Man U.They played last year so have experience. Eventually will be Evans in or another afterwards. Iheanacho I would expect to start with Vardy on the bench.

I'd bet your lad can go out with his mates and play football for about six hours straight as well with no problems?

This is professional football with high intensity which is why they play a fine line between optimal fitness and injuries, it's worlds apart.

I would question whether it was about fitness. More about desire to want to play.

Vardy hardly played in the World Cup, so fitness wouldn’t have played a part in his decision.

It was about preferring a holiday, rather than playing in the Premier League v Man U.

Its their call, but not one I would have made.

I would go Ibiza when my career was over, or just be happy with my Greece holiday a month or so before.

For me, I’d of been in and getting ready to face Man U.

You might not be saying that if you was a professional footballer playing season in season out then going to the world cup training every day, taking part in matches etc.. etc with family kids, and cash in the bank.

give them a break (literally)

Got to laugh at people on here who seem to think that expecting highly paid individuals to sacrifice a week’s holiday by taking 2 weeks instead of 3 is a matter of their human rights lol

Above a certain pay grade most people are expected to put the company first above their own entitlements. It’s nothing like comparing them with the average Joe, who probably only gets 2 weeks in the summer anyway. Besides it’s a short career and they’ll have plenty of time for holidaying when it’s over, and the resources to do so.

Putting an extra week’s holiday above the interests of the club shows a certain lack of commitment in my opinion. Anyway as I said earlier, if the Manu players are doing so, then fair enough that our players do the same, otherwise they’re taking the piss.

Has Vardy even fully recovered from the groin injury?

If not he should rub his money on it so it does.

Imagine anyone else in the world at that pay grade only getting two weeks of vacation a year.

So much double standards it makes me laugh . Slag them both of for having holiday and expect them to cut it short but I bet your left bollock if your boss told you that you had to cut your holiday short you’d tell them where to go . How much money they are  on doesn’t make a difference . If your on minimum wage or  pull in millions a year you are still entitled to a holiday and time  with your family .

I just don't get why people are having a go at the players - the reason they are in this position is they helped get England to the last 4 of the World Cup for the first time since 1990 - nobody really expected that and they did us proud.

They have had their holiday and reported back for training as per the contracts during pre-season and I'm sure they would (and may well still) play.

It is Puel that has made the statement and would be the one deciding not to play them - but I can't see any fault on the 2 players here.

People moaning because Vardy barely played. The guy has family.

So do soldiers , nurses , doctors and policeman who in real terms probably see their family's far less. His family benefit greatly from his usual working hours and pay packet. Not singling him or our other players out, in fact good look to them. But, don't let's make them out to be martyrs to a great cause because they're not.

I understand but players work 6 days a week most weeks, sometimes they go away completely to a different country for a while. Don't get to spend Christmas with their family at all not even for a few hours.

If Vardy only had a weeks holiday and did his groin or hamstring and was out for the season, people would be doing their but saying he should have had a rest.

No win situation for the player and club, with our without Maguire and Vardy we are unlikely to pick up 3 points at Old Trafford.

We need then fully fitted and rested for the next 37 games not just one!
