So they go to the World Cup, then decide to go on a holiday rather than prepare and play v Manchester United at Old Trafford.

What normal person would prefer to go to Ibiza or wherever they go rather than play in the Premier League.

Its not as if they didn’t have a holiday, Maguire was in Greece before the World Cup.

If that was me, I’d be back in Leicester, settling back down and wanting to test myself against Man a United.

I know the Man U players are doing the same, but I just think this is very wrong.

I'd rather they had the extra time off and missed the Man U game than came back too soon, got injured and then missed 3/4 games later in the season

Are they back in training yet?

Lukaku already returned earlier to be ready for our game, as did some others.

Vardy should play as he didnt do much at the WC.

I'm quite happy to just give them the three weeks off and bring them back into the side. They shouldn't need a full pre-season given they've been playing all summer anyway, players often come back from a 3 week injury and play.

Despite what Puel says I'd be surprised if they didn't start at Old Trafford.

Worth remembering every now and then that they're human beings and not football-playing robots whose only purpose in life is to run around for our enjoyment

Seems to get lost doesn't it. "But they're millionaires" they'll say.

Let’s bring them back for one game in a 38 game season to potentially lose them for longer during the season.

Its what having a squad is for. I have no problem if Puel thinks Vardy and Maguire aren't ready. Let them enjoy their rest. Even if Vardy didn't play a huge amount it was still a long stint away from home and he was still training and travelling around a lot.

You also have to take into account the long season before the World Cup. Both Vardy and Maguire would have only had a short break before going on England Duty. No point rushing them back, let the other players in the squad have the opportunity to shine at Old Trafford in front of the cameras.

Vardy had a very busy WC didn't he!

Granted he wasn't that involved but he was still out there having to be mentally switched on, as someone said I think it is often forgotten footballers are still humans you can't expect a man to drop the chance to spend time with his family and friends having the only holiday they can have all year. The equivalent is being at work and just giving up your annual leave and lets face it barely anyone would do that

Mixed feelings on this!

Personally, I would have thought that both Vardy and Maguire would wanted to come back a week early, get involved in these latter stages of pre-season and want to play a part at Old Trafford, which for any player, is still a huge game and spectacle.

All this scaremongering about them likely to injure themselves, because they have a few days less lying on a beach, as opposed to starting their pre-season routine, doesn't really wash with me. They are finely tuned athletes, and programmes can be devised for exactly their needs and how to integrate them at this stage.

Perhaps, they were offered this option and declined and are in their rights to take the agreed 3 weeks. I would have preferred both to show some intent though and want to get back for this first game, much like Lukaku has if reports are true.

But they'd probably have spelt they're correctly, unlike me.

He's probably been training every day, rather than being sat on a beach though.

I agree 100%. If they cared for our club they'd be ready to play against Manure.

They are given three weeks off as per the agreement with the players union.

But they are not forced to take it.
