The bloke is a bit thick to be honest. Just listen to him co-commentate on BT. Talks utter nonsense.

But it wasn't a "fluke achievement" to win it and certainly not to do so by 10 points. The only thing which was a fluke in that season, which was nothing to do with us, is that all the big boys were off it all at the same time. We could only beat what was in front of us, and we did. The fact that the nearest side to us was Arsenal in 10 points says it all. 15 points ahead of Man City and Man United, 21 points ahead of Liverpool and 31 ahead of Chelsea. Us being the best team in the league is what won us the title. No "fluke". That isn't totally true either. Plenty were telling us all how Tottenham were amazing in that run-in. Still can't get over Souness' team of the year

Spurs winning the league would still have been a massive underdog story.

Goober Posted 20 March 2019 Share Posted 20 March 2019 Chelsea were shit but they still had a squad containing Hazard, Costa, Fabregas and the like. City were well under par but they still had the likes of Aguero, David Silva etc. We still shouldn’t have been anywhere near that title no matter how badly the big sides underperformed. whoareyaaa Posted 20 March 2019 Share Posted 20 March 2019 We was the better team over the 38 games we won it fair and square.. all this talk is just plain rubbish our players wanted it more than the other 19 teams.
fraddonfox Posted 20 March 2019 Share Posted 20 March 2019 The season every team were supposedly under par, except us, Liverpool reached the Europa League final and Man City reach CL semi final. Obviously, most teams in Europe had a off season!! Pundits?? Idiots, the lot of um!
Mike Oxlong Posted 20 March 2019 Share Posted 20 March 2019 For many seasons the PL was a two horse race between Man Utd and Arsenal. Oddly, we don’t hear the pundits diminishing the achievements of either of those sides.

Dan LCFC Posted 20 March 2019 Share Posted 20 March 2019 That's weirdly not the one I remember though that is equally hilarious. No Mahrez or Kante who was it who put 9 Spurs players in theirs?

Ted Maul Posted 20 March 2019 Share Posted 20 March 2019 Christ, imagine putting Eric Dier above Kante in any season, never mind that one. He really hated us winning it, it was glorious watching him having to give us praise with that vein in his temple going mental.
