Blue Ed Posted 1 September 2018 Posted 1 September 2018 Madison will play as the fulcrum of the false 9 I guess with players running off and in behind him. Interesting!
Chelve84 Posted 1 September 2018 Posted 1 September 2018 (edited) Puel did something similar with Nathan Redmond at Southampton https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/readsouthampton.com/2016/08/02/claude-puel-sees-nathan-redmond-as-a-capable-forward/%3famp=1 very similar players and situation Edited 1 September 2018 by Chelve84
Bazly Posted 1 September 2018 Posted 1 September 2018 Looking at the team its looking like a 4 - 6 - 0 formation. A squashed rhombus.
weller54 Posted 1 September 2018 Posted 1 September 2018 Have Liverpool got Spotty Maldune in goal? 1
STUHILL Posted 1 September 2018 Posted 1 September 2018 Iheanacho needs his manager to have some more faith in him! He's a decent finisher, who's still young and needs to play in these types of games, especially when he is the obvious choice. Gray is too lightweight and is he that good at finishing? Disappointed but as others have said, if it works, then full credit to Puel. Think it's a big game for Ghezzal to come in, and I hope he is willing to track back and work hard in defence too. Hopefully it all clicks together, but I do think we will need to catch Liverpool on an off day!

Bazly Posted 1 September 2018 Posted 1 September 2018 This game should tell us if we are title challengers this year or not. 1 1
lee7 Posted 1 September 2018 Posted 1 September 2018 Slightly worried Ricardo and Ghezzal will get ripped to shreds!
ozleicester Posted 1 September 2018 Posted 1 September 2018 The always delightful Mrs Oz has advised we will win as our team have much more symmetrical faces 1

fuchsntf Posted 1 September 2018 Posted 1 September 2018 This goes back to the Bloomfield days,When he made a good descision,by giving Weller the no9 shirt, when Stringfellow then Wortho were injured. Let's see how it pans out...For this, I won't blame Puel if it doesn't work.Good time to try something new...He gets a wild card. He's selected a new team with Newbies involved, and with new duties....part of the rebuild and try...period
