Claude Puel has revealed that Caglar Soyuncu is yet to make his Leicester City debut because the centre-back’s lack of English is making it difficult to communicate with his team-mates.

The Turkey international is yet to feature for the City first-team since joining the club in a £19million move from Bundesliga side Freiburg on deadline day.

“For the moment, he has some problems communicating with his team-mates because he does not speak a lot with all the good words and sentences,” said Puel.

* Irony Klaxon ;)

It really looks like you have a major problem with Puel, ive looked at your twitter feed and comments on here and cant find anything positive from you, however in your professional capacity on radio ect you gush all over ALL the other midlands clubs, perhaps your heart is not in our club as much as you think it is, I just hope that in the future we may hear something supportive and positive from you

This is gonna end up like another Kaputska situation :(

Surely his language barrier should have been assessed by our scouting department?

One of the Benkovic/Soyuncu deals was probably a backup in case Maguire went late on. Thank christ he didn't or we'd be in a real mess.

I think I'd respect it more if people just said (for example) 'I don't like him because he's French', instead of the oblique digs dressed up as valid criticism.

What makes you say that? Do you think these people would object to Wenger for instance?

OK.  Offensive to the 'people' as you put it that are criticising Puel (not me by the way) that you are arbitrarily attributing some kind of racism or Francophobia to.

Offensive to me as I find this kind of casual tossing around or implication of such unfounded assumptions endemic of this hateful 21st C. phenomena of virtue signalling.

In a wider context the casual accusation of racism or the like can be career-ending.  Unless you have good grounds to say it, don't say it.  One of my pet hates I'm afraid.

Not worthy of you.

Please take note of my amendment. Small, but significant. Had I been wiser I'd have just said 'something crass/hateful' and it would have made the point better and avoided the misunderstanding.

I just think people have irrational hatreds, so I used one. That was a misleading and unhelpful mistake on my part.

Anyone suggesting they can't understand what he's saying is either stupid or flat out lying. His English is absolutely fine, he expresses himself perfectly well as shown in last nights interview.

Sure he's a tad monatone and wastes a lot of words in his answers that aren't really necessary, but as far as understanding what he's saying then there are no issues.

I’ll give that jug eared prat Lineker his due here ...   he did master the language of the country he played in ...   including Japanese.

To be fair he had plenty of time to learn Japanese, he was injured for most of his time with Grampas 8!

I’m not attacking either of them ...   I think they are both excellent managers and I admire and respect them equally ...    I think the gist of this is that CP can sound slightly monotone and boring.   Does it bother me ...   not a fookin bit ! ...   :)

To be honest, managerial interviews are rarely memorable or informative. The exceptions are notable. Nige and the ostrich interview for example...

This thread is a very confusing.  Starts off talking about Soyuncu and has since meandered all over the place.  FT at its finest:ph34r:

It was funny, get over it.

Brilliant. We've ventured on to accusations of racism when the French aren't even a race and entered into the death knell of conversations when someone accusses someone of 'virtue signalling'. Not even a hint of racism against the Turks - it's like you're not even trying!

Once we have finished accusing the French of racism, I will chip in on the Austrians.

I had an amazing dump this morning ...   you know, one where you line the pan then it gradually builds up until it has the appearance of a small pyramid and stands a good 3 inches out of the water ...       took some flushing mind.

Wonder if Soyuncu has ever done one like that ??? ...    :innocent:

It's fine when you're winning, but if we were losing every week he'd have got ripped to shreds with the shite he came out with.
