Puel has quite clearly tried evolution and not revolution. Yes he has removed Simpson, King and Fuchs from the side however Kasper, Morgan and Vardy have all been trusted to help the young players around them as we build for the future.

Morgan has been given the opportunity this season to keep his place in the side and unfortunately his performances have proved he’s quite clearly past it and Soyuncu/Benkovic are the future.

Kasper is Kasper - he is a very, very good goalkeeper for our club. He goes through phases of inconsistency and making the odd gaffe but he’s up there with Pickford as the best goal keeper outside the “Top 6” clubs.

Vardy has been given every opportunity this season to carry on as the clubs starting number 9, but he’s been woeful. Monday night was criminal. With how badly he was struggling he should have made Puel aware before he had removed Maddison and Iheanacho from the fray. Not let the manager find out after he’s jogged off down the tunnel 10 minutes early. Iheanacho is a number 9, we’ve asked him to adapt and play around Vardy as he is/was the main man but no one has a divine right to keep their place in the side. Iheanacho deserves a chance at this point to stake his claim as our top striker.

A new striker in either January or the summer is on the shopping list, Vardy has two choices, rise to the challenge and prove he’s the man or spend the next 4 years on the bench unless someone else wants to pay an ageing 31 year old £100k+ plus a week who by most fans opinion can only play one style of football.

I agree. However, this whole thing stinks and puts the club in a bad light. Frankly a new striker should have been acquired in the summer. Janaury is not a good shooping time. Hopefully we don't look to the Portuguese league once again!

We're all assuming Claude has and will drop Vardy. What if this is just a "leak" to get to West Ham?

Then he would have said in his presser on Thursday that vardy wasn’t training fully and was unlikely to make it. And he would have stopped vardy putting out his Instagram post on tues/wed that he would be fine for today

if vardy does actually play today then it’s clear that the owners have told him what to do if he wants to keep his job ......

He signed a 4 year contract because he knows as we all do that Puel won't be here very long.

Control possession, don't make me laugh.Did you see the 2nd half stats on Monday? I would hate to see them when we were not trying to control possession.

They have won 11 games in a row and look brilliant this season. We are not at their level in any way. The title win has gone to your head.

Absolutely criminal that we couldn’t control the game away from home against a side which has spent 22 years developing a possession-based game.

Should be dominating the ball against their midfield of 2 £30 million players and a World Cup winning number 10.

Big difference between controlling and having up to 80% against you.Just another excuse to be trotted out to support Puel.Using your thought process there seems no point playing the top teams then.

All this, and he's got a contract until he's 35 ffs what idiot dreamt that one up!

Shades of Peter Taylor when he gave Matty Elliot a contract until he was 38 !!

More like paying a pension than paying wages.

there number 8 Anderson is likely going to cause Amartey a lot of problems lets hope we have a plan in place, Arantuovic always looks like he has got something to prove as well.. won't be an easy game that's for sure.

We've had more posession against Liverpool and Man U at old Trafford, our possession stats are up quite clearly to anyone who isn't blind. Latching on to one game and the lack of posession in it is just beyond laughable and just highlights once again people are scrabbling around to find anything to have a go at him with.

You could also try blaming the players a little who after the goal couldn't even pass the ball to a blue shirt.

Agree with this. There’s a mile of difference between losing possession to an on form side, and being slaughtered like we were in that second half.

Now isn’t the time for any excuses. We must bounce back and beat a semi-resurgent West Ham side. Dropping your best striker seems bizarre to me.

Regardless of who the manager is, these things shouldn't be leaked. He should have the ability to select his team and the players discuss the issue in private.

Going to the press isn't the right way to do it at all.

Yep this is the far bigger worry. Players get dropped and rotated all the time but airing it in the press doesn’t happen so often. Sadly it is usually the sign of disharmony in the camp :(.

Going 3 at the back was also leaked prior to the Arsenal game... someone (or more than one person) is trying to sabotage Puel.

Didn't work out too well for Ranieri and Shakespeare the last two times it happened...

the owners missed to sack the manager in time and this was end of last season and sent him back to France.

But now enough is enough.

PUEL OUT 4EVER

Why is this clear? We don't know any of what goes on behind the scenes. We've had 1 journalist saying there's something, it could be true or it could be BS

I think these Journalists are bloody great knowing who will and will not start before the team sheet has come out. Or wait maybe they are speculating....

Not saying they are wrong but i will hold judgement for 4.30 and then admit to either being wrong or sneakily laughing in side about all the posts on here.

In my opinion fwiw, IF Vardy doesnt start then its more likely to be down to a lack of fitness after illness than a like from his wife on twitter.

And i'm not saying that any player is bigger than the club either. Because they are not.

Journos as well connected to our club as Percy dont go out on a limb unless they have info they are very confident about

I’m comfortable with my post

i will try and get the gossip from the second floor later on ....

Swear our fans would moan if we lose to a prime Barcelona or Real Madrid side.

Of course we would. Have you not been on Foxtalk before? :)

We seem to give the better teams a good game though, it's the frustrating results against teams we could/ should realistically do better against that angers most I think.

Bingo. The club’s toxic in more ways than one. Players constantly making sly digs via social media or the press. Then fcuking off to Dubai or holiday resort as soon as they have one week off.

What was great about those set of players who won the title was that refreshing air of no elitism. Now they have bought into the elitism. Frankly I’ve had enough of it. Can’t help but feel that if you had a Huth like character on the training ground, the professionalism wouldn’t slip. Puel desperately needs to get a leader in who is professional by example

Perhaps he just wants to quash the speculation that he's 'thrown his toys out'
