Not had one of these threads in a while.

So. What's going on with him? Strikers as good as Vards don't turn to shit over a summer break but he's clearly struggling this season, and I'm not basing that on tonight's performance. He looks a shadow of our hero at present. He can't be done can he?

Anyone know of anything behind the scenes? Injury/health problems? He's definitely lost a yard or so.

He doesn't close down like he did 3 seasons ago, and the team aren't able to play him in with the current style that we utilise. Maddison looked like he was playing centre forward at times today with Vardy off to the side.

Bit late to the party and en route back from the match, what happened to Vardy late in the 2nd half? Didnt even notice him come off.

I think the issue is that we're evolving into a possession-based side and that doesn't suit Vardy's game. I actually think he's working hard to adapt but it's not his natural game and that's why he looks off the pace. At times today it looked to me like he literally didn't understand what role he was supposed to be fulfilling.

Went for a dump and ran out of bog roll is everyone's best guess.

Why did he go off running down the tunnel with a few mins to go?

My favourite ever Leicester player but he was off form against Everton and truly awful today. Maddison should have stayed on instead of him.

I think he must have had a cold or something, he just looked completely out of character.

Vardy has been in conservation mode for a long time now, he's not that player who will run the channels like he used to, charging past players and winning a penno every other week. His pace is going and he's not got the energy he used to have. His play last season was very much centered around the opposition box and getting on the end of things. His finishing was first class, if you are creating very good chances week in week out then he's great. Expecting him to be involved in build ups, harrying defenders all game, running channels, whether it's Puel or anyone else... that's not going to happen.

Showed more pace running down the tunnel than he did all game. Surprised he didnt just point in random directions while walking down there.

In all seriousness I hope he hasnt lost his touch. His USP was his attitude and determination, but he kind of seems to be content putting 75% effort in. Reflects on everyone else too.

I get that, but what's the point in going into conservation mode if it results in match stats of one completed pass. Is that a sign of feeling too safe? He knows he's going to start week in week out no matter what and that could become a problem if we don't seriously improve our all round attacking options.

He had no service whatsoever. He didn’t run because he had nothing to run on to.

It's not just that is it.

His passing has been poor this season, his touches often let him down (see 1st goal conceded tonight) and he's missed big chances more often than he usually does (The numbers are out there)

He's not been playing well - it's hard to argue against that. A bit like Kasper last season. It's just how it is. Doesn't mean they're not appreciated etc....

He was screwed completely by the role he was asked to fill tactically tonight. He was stuck out wide and being asked to defend 10 yards ahead of Chilwell at left back. He was on the edge of our area more than theirs in that second half.

It's a Puel decision and it was the same for Iheanacho who was doing the same on the other side with Maddison our most advanced player through the middle. I actually thought he'd also looked a lot sharper first half and was ruined by the tactical change.

We know Vardy, and we know that Jamie Vardy doesn't give up on a game through needing a crap with 4 minutes left to go unless he's massively frustrated with what he's being asked to do. I don't blame him to be honest and I wouldn't be surprised if he's one of the first to decide he's done with Puel.

I don't think he suits Puel's football, and I think his goals tally last season made absolutely no sense at all.

All very disconcerting, including Mrs V liking the following on Twitter  "Vardy was nonexistent today. He’s been like this for the vast majority of Puel’s time here. Surely no coincidence? #lcfc"
