Claudio to Fulham

Saw this comment at the bottom of a BBC article about his appointment:

'Nigel Pearson did all the shopping and prep and the italian chef walked in taking all the credit? Sorry, sheer luck. I do not buy he's a good manager. Pearson is the father of Lestah's success'

Come on, own up, who wrote this?..

He’ll get a good team spirit going and get the best out of their stars and shore them up at the back. Short term he’ll be a good appointment he’ll keep them up there’s certainly 3 worse teams than Fulham in the league

They're bottom of the League so there aren't at the moment. On paper they certainly have better players than some of the others down there but it's going to take time to get them organised and by then they may be too far behind to get out of it.I hope he does keep them up though.

What are the odds of his back four in January being Simpson Morgan Huth Fuchs, Inler, Mendy, Drinkwater in midfield, with Slimani, Musa and Gray up front? lol

We won't let Simpson, Morgan or Fuchs go, as they are still of use to us in their final 6 months.

Huth's injuries seem to have finished him unfortunately.

Only ones I can see going there is Benny lol and maybe King and Drinky

Wish him the best and hope he does well with them. Can’t really understand why he didn’t retire after leaving us though, having reached the pinnacle of his career. So much risk of sullying his reputation and surely he doesn’t need the money.

Then again, my first instinct is always to quit while I’m up.

Pearson hasn’t put it on a plate for him on this one so I can’t see them doing too well.

In all seriousness good luck Claudio.

Exactly. Fraudio Ranieri. That said I've of course got a huge amount of goodwill for the man and would like to see him do well but it's unlikely, he's been in decline for a while now.

'Fan since 2017'.

Says it all, really.

Yes so what? You read nothing about my post and just highlights that.

Gary neville, jammie carragher, thiery Henry, Jonathan Wilson and many other pundits didn't  need to be 'fans' just to talk about football.

Personally I had follow some football club journey for some year when I found them interesting like Liverpool, man utd, stoke city, atletico madrid, and many more including this one, and only in 2017 I'm get convinced to be fans of this club. Those other club didn't.

Everybody have right to follow some club without necessary become fans first. If everyone have to be fans before reading and following the club, then every club will just have local based fans rather than worldwide. Most outside people become fans after they exposed to the news, footage and many other things about the club.

Oh, it's surely that and the gradual decline he had before he joined us. It's just strange how he has otherwise been highly regarded throughout his career (which his CV is testament to) and yet, despite having achieved more than he ever did before with a much less fancied team, it doesn't get rated that highly.

This contrasts starkly with the continuous employment of Allardyce, Eriksson and Redknapp throughout the years.

His record with big teams is by no means terrible. Many would say he was unfairly booted at Chelsea, but hindsight will only show that it was a good decision considering The Special One's success. Much like Pearson's role in our title win, Ranieri could claim he had a fairly large share in the success Chelsea had under Mourinho during his first season.

You don't need to explain or downplay our title win. Regardless of circumstances, it was still nothing short of unbelievable what our team achieved and Ranieri made perfect adjustments and piloted the team and media brilliantly. Many far less qualified managers are getting picked ahead of him, which I find odd given how many clubs are easily swayed by an impressive CV.

I never say terrible but rather not unconvincing enough for them.

Big club wants to win something especially  national league, which ranieri had already had fair share with those big club but only won like serie b, ligue 2. Never won highest national league title with those big club and later sacked. So it will be reasonable for those big club to be reluctant to hire him.

His Chelsea tenure aren't perfect at all. I remember how he sub robert huth on as right wing back which cost them get knocked out from champions league when they are leading before.

Mourinho come and bring 3 midfield with 1 holding which surprise the majority of epl sides. He also bring his player which would become the core of Chelsea team

I never downplay our title win. I just write the fact here that our title win is happen not just because of him. We have amazing backroom staff, chairman, and majority of the signing was done during Pearson tenure. The 2nd season were magnify it how when the things turned different ways and he handle much more dominant task.

I never says ranieri is terrible coach btw. I wrote before how fulham done a decent recruitment in him.he's just bit overrated

I’ve always believed that Ranieri is as good a manager as they come.  It doesn’t mean that all teams will succeed with him.    Players, can often, even with a good manager just go to seed.

Claudio has an unbelievable history of moving teams up or saving them from relegation (barring his second year here with us).

Fulham is currently a woeful team.  It will be interesting to see him manage that mess.

I do believe whole heartedly that he’s heads above fat Sam.

Looking at the whole career of him, its reasonable.

Yes leicester city epl winning is a miracle but that's the only time he won it. He didn't do with Chelsea,. Neither are juventus, roma, valencia.

The circumstances around title win is also rare event. How could team like Manchester city, Manchester united, arsenal, chelsea, all have a bad season altogether?

The amount of injury and suspensions we suffer is almost the lesser compared to another team in history that allow us to almost every match, have the same lineup.

As soon as the new season start, he put his real stamps. He sack some of our important staff like sport psychology and says they aren't needed, disjointed our midfield by putting target man as first choice link up player, have no plans again enemy who nullify our counter attack threat, and many more. He inherit a good team and unable to build new chapter, neither improve it.

The bigger team surely sees how he fare in big team he already had, and how he won the epl, and the season after.

It might sounds harsh but the truth doesn't always sounds nice

Claudio Ranieri is one of the best man managers there is, that is the key to his success, however, he doesn't have the tactical skills of Eddie Howe.

An absolute gentleman with great charisma, but if things don't work out he can be found wanting on changing tactics, formations.

He obviously still has a burning passion, so good luck to him. As for giving him a standing ovation and singing his name for 90 minutes, I for one will be singing for our current manager.
