I'd recommend that Filbert joins a union just in case.

What would we change to? The Lamberts with a pie as a badge and a fat b***ard waddling round the pitch nicking burgers off the front row at half time before getting stuck in the tunnel?

As for the foxes being around the area there were two running around the floral tributes after the Burnley game.

No problems with it being associated to Fox Hunting.

Cultural norms aren't fixed and change over time. Whats the issue with us having a history? Why is that offensive to some people? It occurred. It's nowhere near as inflammatory as The Red Skins.

I have just been out walking the dogs and seen two foxes, one after the other, cross the road.

Completely irrelevant of course, but I love to see them.

Also. I live in Foxton.  That's irrelevant too.:)

Bound to happen. After all Welford Road rec is now Mandela Park.

On a serious side other than the owners who would have the right. Who can force a business to change its name.

In a minority here.

I've always thought fondly of us being called The Foxes.

My dad took me to one of my first games in the 70's and , being generous, ( must have just been paid that week) bought me a scarf which read 'Leicester City Super Foxes'

Always stuck in my mind and wish I still had the scarf☹️

You're definitely not in the minority.

We have historically also been known as the Filberts, but that would offend vegans, like most things.

Well, thats just offensive.

I agree. We need something that celebrates local history with more positive connotations.

A nickname change would mean this forum would have to be renamed..and that would be unthinkable.:)

I never refer to us as the Foxes or Citeh...maybe because those names are rarely,  if ever, sung from the stands.

For me its always been Lestah!! ahh LESTAH.

come on LESTAH..

Lesta boys are we..etc:scarf:

I rest my case..

Absouletly ridiculous changing nicknames to pander to snowflakes who are offended by anything and everything!.

you do know that no-one has actually suggested it?..... it almost as though youve been offended or upset by something that is completely irrelevant?

What was the name of that Harry Enfield character who would dream up imaginary scenarios in which he was insulted in some way by a celebrity, then proceed to become enraged as if it had actually happened? This thread is a bit like that.
