Hanan96 Posted 16 December 2018 Posted 16 December 2018 At least he can spell 'quality and intensity' much more clearer. His English looks decent

We are probably the worst country in the world for speaking foreign languages (someone will correct me on this as a literal statement im sure). Very amusing we use it as a stick to beat Puel with

We don't grow up with the motivation to learn the world's lingua franca since we already speak it.

Sure, i'm not having a go at us for it Its still rich of us to criticise Puel for it And theres no excuse for the abysmal sense of humour that prompts people to keep writing qualiteeee and intensiteeee Shakespeare is a native English speaker, but wasnt constantly taken the piss out of for repeating himself every interview

His Monaco team were wonderful, getting the best out of Mbappe, Lemar, Bernardo Silva, Benjamin Mendy, Bakayoko, Fabinho as talented young players that also had a very experienced and solid spine in Subasic (GK), Glik (CB) and Falcao (Striker). 2 hours ago, AlloverthefloorYesNdidi said: Soon to be... His Leicester team were wonderful, getting the best out of Gray, Ghezzal, Ndidi, Nampalys Mendy, Matty James, and Diabate The players Jatdim had probably needed some nurturing but they've had major careers to this point and are so talented they most likely would have made it big anyway. I'm not belittling him winning the league, he had to get them playing together to do that as it isn't plain sailing in any country, but the talent at his disposal was pretty incredible from the list above. He's also had short stints at a number of clubs, 5 to be precise, are there any details as to why that was the case? Apart from his first club, and then Monaco, he lasted no longer than around 18 months at the others and had two short stays at Olympiacos and Sporting (though his win percentage both times was high). I'm not dismissing his credentials, I genuinely don't know much about him. It was mentioned in another thread that his man management and leadership skills are reputed to be good and that would be an absolute given IF the owners want to replace Puel. I like you both as posters, though Strider's posts often lose me (no offence intended). Do either of you have any info or opinion on the above?

Well not really, we've had 4 real injuries this season - Vardys groin strain (picked up with England and never properly recovered from), Maguire's knee, Grays ankle and Amarteys ankle (all freak accidents during matches). Miles away from outdated training methods causing regular training injuries, as it was at Arsenal
StriderHiryu Posted 16 December 2018 Posted 16 December 2018 @Max Wall Jardim fell out with management at a number of his clubs and is supposedly a strong character. In Greece he was let go despite the team being 10 points clear in first place. So I get the feeling he doesn’t take any shit. At Monaco he gelled those players into a team and improved all of them. Yes those players were talented, but he and the coaching team helped make them what they are today. All moot or unless he came here but he’s proven himself to be a great coach and is still in his forties.

I suspected he'd had a run in at Olympiacos and Sporting as his win percentage was 73% and 66% respectively and only lost 7 games of 57 during those two reigns. Those clubs are both big fish in their countries but I was presuming those win stats aren't in the sackable form range. I'll say again, IF the owners want to replace mid season (i'm hoping it doesn't come to that), a strong manager is paramount as it would soon expose if any rumours of player power are correct. If that happened it would undoubtedly be a good thing for the club long term but a combustible character just might be disastrous short term

But everything thats been said of him could just as easily be used against him as for him. Just as happens with Puel Same people calling for Puel out are the same who slate Gray and Nacho and Ndidi and Mendy to bits, yet most of these players are our starting players. I look at our performances and think the players arent that great and we need long term structure to improve, not more chopping and changing. I think there is a naivety to just think that a new manager will come in here and be a success. It could just as easily backfire, so better to leave it until its right and we can do it in a considered manner Still mid table for now so not to worry, we wont get relegated. We need to use the January window.
