LCCFox96 Posted 23 December 2018 Posted 23 December 2018 Aside from the fact that a £15mil deal would be a massive £6mil club transfer record for Celtic and indeed a transfer record for any club in the Scottish Premier League making it very financially unlikely, I'm pretty sure Benkovic's understanding of the loan move will always have been short-term to get some experience at a decent standard in Britain and Europe. £15mil also isn't enough to catch attention on £13mil investment who by all accounts has developed well and impressed this year.

They even lost a game to the champions of Gibraltar ffs! It's great that Celtic fans are drooling about him, but Benkovic's value can only be properly judged when he plays for us in the Premier League.

Their best hope is that we are so pleased with his development we loan him back for a second season before integrating him into our first team squad. I'd have him back next season though as one of our main central defenders.

I'm sure we paid not far off £15m for him so why would we sell him for not much more than we bought him for when hes already a better player than when we signed him!
