davieG Posted 30 December 2018 Posted 30 December 2018 Only sports witness On Saturday, France’s Le10 Sport published a report saying Ligue 1 side Caen have positioned themselves to sign Fousseni Diabaté from Leicester City. Caen are currently 16th out of 20 in France’s top division and will be looking for value additions during the January transfer window. With that in mind, they’d be looking to loan the player until the end of the current season. Sunday sees further French claims, this time from L’Equipe, that Turkish club Fenerbahce are also interested. Fenebahce are having a struggle with their season, and they’re hoping to sign the Leicester player during the winter market. There’s no explanation of whether a deal would be loan or permanent, but given how Turkish clubs normally approach these things then the former is likelier. Diabaté signed for Leicester City in the January 2018 market from Gazélec Ajaccio, and he’s not really made an impact. This season has seen 55 minutes of Premier League football, all coming in a match against Fulham, and two EFL Cup

Tuna Posted 30 December 2018 Posted 30 December 2018 Needs to be playing but will leave us very light on numbers. Hopefully we'll have a few incomings and possibly a return for Barnes.
siraaj_lcfc Posted 30 December 2018 Posted 30 December 2018 A bit of time on loan will be good for him. Maybe to the Championship or something. Definitely not selling him though, Good prospect.
alanf0x Posted 30 December 2018 Posted 30 December 2018 Hopefully to the championship rather than France or turkey!!!
Leicesterpool Posted 30 December 2018 Posted 30 December 2018 I'd rather him stay in England really learn a bit more about the English game, drop to the championship even.

Monsell1976 Posted 31 December 2018 Posted 31 December 2018 When he signed, it was made clear he was signed for development squad, he got lucky and a run of games. Proves how clueless the reporter is stating he hasn’t been able to make an impact. A loan wouldn’t hurt his development, he’s clearly got something, as he looked ok at times last season, definitely one for the future for me.
Keiriel Posted 31 December 2018 Posted 31 December 2018 Loan him out to West Brom in a goodwill exchange for Barnes, maybe? Both sides would benefit in my opinion. Diabate isn't quite ready for the first team and so dropping to the Championship might help his development, and Barnes seems to be finding it a bit too easy down there.
Guest Col city fan Posted 31 December 2018 Posted 31 December 2018 Send him out and give him game time or he’ll be another young player who lurks for ages in the reserves. Surely a Championship side might be interested?

Collymore Posted 1 January 2019 Posted 1 January 2019 Can't figure the guy out. He's looked pretty average for the U23s so he definitely needs to prove himself at some sort of level.

midland_red Posted 1 January 2019 Posted 1 January 2019 he needs a loan to the championship,, he s never going to improve and mature without competitive game time and the championship is great for that, a rough tough competitive division
Foxxed Posted 1 January 2019 Posted 1 January 2019 I didn't see him in the last u23s. I'm not sure about the one before that. If he's not making the first team, or the under 23s, then pretty much loan him out anywhere.
Devonfox1884 Posted 1 January 2019 Posted 1 January 2019 Give him to West Brom as a peace offering if we’re going to recall Barnes.
