Past his prime and he's never been great going forward but he's always been superb defending.

Not so long ago Simpson was playing in the U23s and had a number of players above him in the pecking order.

He’s great at defending. Just shite going forward again. Every time he receives it he turns and passes it backwards.

Him and Morgan are still performing at a high level and one of the main reasons for that is how much they love it here. I honestly think elsewhere they'd decline, it's great to see.

To be left out for so long and to show the appertite, passion and high levels of performance that he has done since his return to the team speaks volumes about the bloke. What a player he has been (and continues to be) for us.
