copunk Posted 9 February 2019 Posted 9 February 2019 Interested to see what you all make of players who have stood out so far... For me I was never a massive chilwell fan before this season, felt he was over rated at times and defensively weak, however this season I've been really impressed and hes completely changed my mind, still a young lad who's going to no doubt learn more but I'm slowly coming round to the fact that her becoming a vital player for us Also a shout out to jonny Evans who I reckon has been a key player in defence for us, consistently reliable and we look so much better at the back when he's playing, one of the best bits of business we've done in recent years Madders has had a positive start for us, again a young lad who's tailed off a little recently but I feel will really kick on next season, attended the United game on Sunday with my arsenal supporting mate and he couldn't believe how good his delivery is from set peices And a big recognition to hamza, machine of a cm and so far warrents a place in the starting 11 week in week out, and also harvey Barnes, who's come back and looks to give us a bit more when on the front foot, thought he had a good showing against united
Nicolo Barella Posted 9 February 2019 Posted 9 February 2019 Standout would be performing above expectations for me, so: Chilwell Ricardo Hamza That's about it. Ward in the cups maybe?

Really adapted well to the PL and a threat with the ball going forward.
Blue-fox Posted 9 February 2019 Posted 9 February 2019 Mendy started well but gone off the boil, same with Maddison. Chilwell and Ricardo have both been good. albrighton has had a good season.

copunk Posted 9 February 2019 Author Posted 9 February 2019 I meant to put Ricardo in there too, my bad, it's nice to have a rb who can attack aswell as defend, not a sly on Simpson who I think has been outstanding in his time with us
Langston Posted 9 February 2019 Posted 9 February 2019 The full backs, definitely. I dread to think how even more dour this season would be without the pair of them.
tylesta Posted 9 February 2019 Posted 9 February 2019 Didn't Ricardo get a right bashing at one point

OK nothing special but solid at what he does and very rarely let's the side down.

Aus Fox Posted 9 February 2019 Posted 9 February 2019 If the season ends now Chilwell takes home all of the awards!

That_Dude Posted 9 February 2019 Posted 9 February 2019 - Ricardo by a country mile. - Chilly - Hamza - Albrighton with his constant work rate. Mr Reliable despite of some limitations. - Evans doing a quiet but solid job.
La-li-lu-le-lo Posted 9 February 2019 Posted 9 February 2019 Chilwell I’d say. No one else has been consistent enough. Hamza has been good when he comes in, and Ricardo more often than not is decent. But I’d say Chilwell has consistently been the stand out player this season.

I think he cost us about 5 goals in the first ten games. It was entirely justified - watch how he got knocked over against liverpool.
AKCJ Posted 9 February 2019 Posted 9 February 2019 Ricardo, Chilwell, Maguire and Maddison have been our stand out players for me. In that order.
ThaiFox Posted 9 February 2019 Posted 9 February 2019 Nacho....is the stand out player for me, by not doing a lot, not trying, not scoring and not improving. And he's also excellent at pointing the finger for others to run and cover whilst he stands on the half way line, especially in the 85th minute, when he has the freshest legs and we are either chasing or closing out a game. So disappointed in him.
lgfualol Posted 9 February 2019 Posted 9 February 2019 Ricardo and Chilwell. Everyone else getting quite a lot of minutes has been painfully average. Hamza has played like 4 games but has been good so far.
Fox92 Posted 9 February 2019 Posted 9 February 2019 Ricardo and Chilwell. Hamza has looked okay in his four games. Maddison okay at times and I think if he was in front of two better midfielders he'd be even better. Evans is our best central defender.
South Shire Fox Posted 9 February 2019 Posted 9 February 2019 Ricardo has been the only player this season that ive thought ‘this kid is class’ but even he had some dodgy games at the beggining of the season. Chilwell deffo most improved. Think all the others have been hit and miss tbh
kingfox Posted 9 February 2019 Posted 9 February 2019 Ricardo and Chilwell have been our best players so far this season, nobody else deserves a mention.
